B.O.V's

Just wondering if you guys know anyone who sells a straight bolt blow off valve o kit for a series 8 fd? no mods just pure bolt off bolt on application where all the parts are included.

Thanks

i think he is refering to the stereotypical noob that seemingly only cares about looking/sounding cool...hence BOVs.

but its moot anyway....continue.

there are certain thread topics that we see a lot of...many of which on a weekly basis. this is why we search before we post.

anyway, it seems the aftermarket (or vented) b.o.v. topic is always the top priority for newbies (or 15 year olds who are "planning" to buy their first FD).

unless you are running lots of boost, or have a damaged b.o.v., i don't see any reason to replace the stocker (unless you want one that sounds different...). i think i have about $12k invested in my car now (not counting purchase price) and i'm still running the stock b.o.v. with no problems. relocated it when i went non-seq, but it's still the stocker!

this is my 5th turbo car, and im 30. But read on another forum that a aftermarket B.O.V will increase the turbo's life on the FD. But also i wanted one for sound.

you should check your sources. the fd already comes with a stock bov that works just fine. some aftermarket bov's cause compression surge, so you could actually be harming your turbos

its routed into your intake box. all you have to do is pull it off, then you have instant bov sound
