Apexi N1 Single

I recently purchased a Apexi N1 Single Exhaust. And I have to say that I like it, but it's not as loud as I thought it would be. On rx7store.net it says that the exhaust is rated a 6. Well my N1 sounds just like the stock exhaust except when i i take to high rpm's in 1st gear is the only time i hear a difference. Does anyone have any idea on why it's not that loud. Any help would be appreicated.

If you want loud, get a midpipe.

The Downpipe replaces the Pre-cat's up front and the Midpipe replaces the main catalytic coverter.

This will really open up the exhaust system, you may have to do other mods to maintain fuel richness. Also if you need to pass emissions in your state, you might fail.

Regards

Check to see if the silencers are installed on it. The N1 is loud.

Yo man I have a down pipe, mide pipe, straight out with no cat and it is very loud I mean people think I'm speading when the car is just going real slow and when you come home late, you my whole street wakes up and I know because I'v had the police at my house for racing down my street which was not true and letters from other neighbours so you don't want it that loud man, trust me, I'm thinking of getting a resinator my self because the cat is really restrictive

jwaingold, what side skirts and rear end do u have? looks nice.... i have an N1 as well and its pretty loud (i don't like it to be too loud) it all depends on what mods u have for the sound it makes but a midpipe and high flow cat make a BIG difference in sound

If the exhaust is brand new that may also be why it's not as loud as you thought it might be. Let it break in for a little while and it should get louder. I agree that the N1 is a pretty loud exhaust.

There is this thing that screws in the tip. It is held in by a pair of set screws. Unscrew and pull straight out. It has a relatively small diameter. Pics can be seen on the forum store. www.rx7store.net
