Correct me if im wrong, but isent this your second post about the acv-r?

Follow the instrustion provided with the avc-r, if none came with them, then go to apexi's website and download them

the install is pretty simple just make sure you check your wiring into the stock harness.

Your right it is.

the 1st was requesting some feedback as to weather it would solve my boost spike problem and weather i should install it after rushing out ab buying it without research (im impusive i know).

the second is about where all the little fufu valves and dangle spanners are.

i have the instructions its just that i dont know what the bits that they refer to look like.

ie. the manual refers to putting the pressure sensor between the suregetank and the pressure regulator or anywhere the manifold pressure can be monitord consistantle.

so where would be the best most reliable place to mount it ?

And it says shows the 2 lines from the 2 Actators (turbo pre-control) and the (Wastgate control) are to be joined and a T placed in them to the com on the AVC solenoid valve (confusing to a piston non turbo man).

SO thought a few pictures would be a little help.

Is this so wrong ?????

if you sore how much of the book was related to FD's and the diagrams in them you would prolly understand.

Bear in mind i am new to FD's.

Im exspecting flames so go ahead.

i hope this helps

what your going to want to do is remove all your upper intake and lower intake off down to the turbo's make sure not to droping anything into the intake.

your looking for two actuators which are right next to each other as shown in the pictures below

what your going to see is 2 actuators with 4 hoses coming our of them 2 for each one.

remove the side that comes from the air pipe and put in one of your T's and hook up a line and put it a side.

now unhook the other two hoses from the other side, not from the actuators but from the hoses and insert another T and run a hose up

look at page 48 in your instructions to see what im talking about.

use this diagram to figure out which solenoid valves to disconnect.

here is a very good site with info but no pictures

Oh i see where im going wrong.

All i have is 2 pages on the FD and 1 is only mazda specific and only 20 lines of words.
The other page is a very vague picture of the Turbo's and when i say vague i mean vague i can only just make the wording out on the page itself and there is only 3 lines of text.

wish i had the same manual as yourself.

BTW thats very helpfull and kind of you to post thankQ.

Anywhere i can get the same manual you have?

Thanx again.

Sorted the AVC-R solenoid valve bit.

Just got 2 last questions i think.

Duz the AVC-R Pressure sensor join between the factory pressure sensor on MrRx diagram above.

And what pipes do i disconnect and block for the stock boost pressure solenoid valve, if there is one.

for the boost sensor you should have a free nipple or two on the top of your intake manifold, if not then you can just T into the stock line.

If you look on the picture Solenoid's I & J. Dont disconnect the electraical connector or it will cause the car to run in limp mode all you really need to do is install to vacume caps where the orange and green hoses end at the solenoid. Make you you put them on the solenoid itsself and not the pipe you removed.

So my summary will be.

Install AVC-R Solenoid valve like on my 1st picture i posted.

Cap the orange and green lines on the Actuators on the turbo and cap them on the stock solenoid as well (4 caps) but dont disconnect the electric block conector to them (on MrRx's diagram).

Install the AVC-R pressure sensor on a free nipple on the inlet manifold or splice it in on the stock pressure sensor (on MrRx's diagram).

Then splice the AVC-R into the loom (this bit im ok with)

Then use some of the setup tutorials For the AVC that can be found on a number of sites.

Anything i have missed please let me know if not then thanQ very much.

Much appreciated and very helpfull.

Steve

I hooked my pressure sensor up ("T" 'd it in right next to the MAP sensor) Mine didn't come with the filter so I used the filter that feeds the MAP sensor to protect the pressure sensor and figure it will see the same thing as the map sensor. I'll see if I can find a picture of it. and see what I can do with the rest of the install. Jack

Ah thats a neat idea.

Think am gonna do the same but include the filter as i got 1 with the AVC.

Thanx CantGoStraight was wondering where i was gonna mount the pressure sensor.

Looks like an ideal spot, nice and neet as well.

Anymore pics from anyone specially from the turbo hoses would be greatly appreciated.

ThanX again.

Gonna install tomorrow so i think i just came across another question.

I have a HKS f-con installed on my Factory ECU so do i install the AVC wireing straight after the Stock ECU or after the HKS F-con.

Feedback would be apreciated.

Thanks for the compliment. I didn't get the filter with mine and I didn't want to run it without some sort of protection, so I parralell'd the stock filter for the MAP sensor. Right now I'm running with mine off as I'm having problems with too much boost with no pill's in the precontrol and the wastegate. I'm seeing 9 psi on the primary turbos with 11 psi after 4500 rpm and that's with no pills. I do drop off to 7 psi on transition so I'm going to have to port the waste gate before I can run the boost controller. I did mount my valve down near the intake filters (don't hear it working) and keeps it cool. Jack

My valve is up near the ABS, I never hear it but I think thats becuase of my Apexi gt spec.

As for were to wire it, just directly into the main harness, if your f-con and the avc-r need the same wire just splice it in.

For my haltech install I actually have a whole seperate wiring harness for all my gauges and boost controller and so forth.

Well compleated the install and all went good.

Took me just under 6 hrs with me taking my time.

It has cured my boost spike

Boost pattern was 10-15-10 (the 15 spike made it feel like all hell was gonna break loose)

Boost pattern is now 7-6-7 so i have a lot of tuning to do to get to 10-8-10

Also i gotta read s**t loads of stuff to understand what all the options do.

I have searched and found all the popular tuning sites so that should keep me busy 4 a while.

Cant thank the people that helped enugh.

Thanx steve
