i have HID on my FD as well, in the stock housings. And i personally think the stock housing is horrible. I had these HID in the Hella 6054 housings and the light pattern was great and evenly dispersed. but wtih teh FD stock housing the light is not evenly dispersed and almost concentrates itself in certain regions. Of course it's better than stock or any of the wanna be bulbs, but it's not as good as it 'could' be. Has anyone tried fitting the 6054 housings in? I figure they could, but putting the black plastic cover piece on is difficult.

I have the Bellof kit.. Just havent installed it yet.. the only one out there from what I know of that actually has the solenoid to make it go high/low beam. I'll take some pics soon.

Well...

I'm revisiting this, now that I have a fat bonus check on the way. I'll be able to drop a little of it on an hids4less kit.

However, before I do so, I'd like a little more feedback from Daniel and WorkS2R about their adventures in HID.

What were the results of the Bellof kit?

I'm still worried about dropping $500-700 if my beam pattern is gonna be so screwy that I'm blinding people, attracting cops and just not seeing as well as I should be.

Thoughts guys?

Sweet, i'd like to know more about these. How much was shipping to the US? DId you get them from Takakaira?

Knightsports now makes HID's for about $850 before US shipping... http://www.knightsports.co.jp/catalo...parts/hid.html

Hella makes HID fog lights but not sure of the cost yet.
Here's my thread, it got moved for some reason...

More pics would be fantastic.

I saw you had posted your beam patterns on another thread, would there be more updated pictures (or more) than that?

Found Bellof's here:

http://www.hitechimportlighting.com/

Don't have any idea about the company, and their Web site is a little put-offish with all the CYA crap they have going on.

Then again, that prolly means they actually care what comes out of there.

Anyway, Bellof seems to be the only place that has figured out the dual beam situation, and also makes them available (somewhat) readily.

Look forward to hearing/seeing more from you on these.

I run the McCullough HID lights in my FD, and they improved the lighting dramatically. They have only low beams, but honestly, haven't seen a need for more illumination. After aiming them correctly, I have never been flashed by oncoming traffic. And never pulled over, a HUGE plus here in Cali. It is a ltitle tricky to mount the ballast and relay, and route the wires so that the headlight mechanism won't interfere with them. Theres not a lot of room in there. The pattern does bounce a bit on non perfect roads, but thats probably more of the Bilsteins fault.

Where do you get it from?
Does it replace the stock housing? How is the lighting and beam pattern?

The beam pattern is ok, nothing to write home about. It bleeds a little bit up, and seems to diffuse to the sides a bit much, but I think that is a function of the FD housing. The pattern looks very much like the Low beam pic earlier in this thread.
