Anyone ever fixed a goofy headlight motor?

My drivers side headlight has started acting silly. The car had been sitting for a year and now the drivers headlight motor doesn't like to work. If I give the manual **** on the motor a little spin - it takes off and goes up.

Headlight comes down with no problems. Anyone ever fixed one? Could it be a relay problem or something else?

When I first started working on the car after a year, the lights wouldn't come on at all - turned out the blue relay in the front had rusted up. Now the lights come on - but the drivers side headlight motor likes to wink at me.

Mine does the same thing in the rainy season. I believe that the relay contacts inside the headlight actuator itself are getting damp. It's definitely moisture related for mine.

Planning on taking it apart, drying and resealing the housing.

Been doing some searching myself. Some suggestion that there is a limit switch possibly associated with the issue. But it's strange that all of us seem to have the problem with the driver's side.

Interested to see your results. I had always assumed the motor was on its way out, but I drive so rarely at night, I just haven't dealt with it.

I have a similar problem with my driver side headlight, sometimes when I open or close it, it continues to go up and down until I turn them off and then back on again, then it is fine. I have a feeling that to fix this problem, we have to take the motor out, take it apart and clean the contacts, but I've just been too lazy to do that.

My drivers side headlights have just started to act up. (probably cause I said I'd go nonpop up soon)

When turning the lights on or off, the drivers side pop up goes crazy and goes up and down about 5 times before finally going its end position.

Same thing happens when pressing the retractor switch.

The lights work, high beams good, etc. Right side acts perfect.

Ran through the body electrical troubleshooting and found continuity at all points, relay recently replaced under 500 miles. Wires all seem to be connected securely, connectors clean.

Any ideas?? Just a bad light motor? Did you guys ever resolve it?
Thanks in advance for any help.

I've got nothing in the way of a fix. All I know is that mine has stopped giving me issues after transporting it to Hawaii (knock on wood). I think it is thanking me that it never has to sit for years collecting dust in a garage that ranged from 100+ degrees to -10 degrees again. lol Hopefully someone else can give you some more detailed help...

Well if I have to go to Hawaii...that wouldn't be a bad fix.
