I may have to start a class action lawsuit if I don't get refunded tomorrow. Anyone else that purchased from Rotary Knights group buy or seperately have their hoses fail?

I am being told my hoses were not installed properly and thats why they turned brittle like dried leaves and my intercooler was more the 350 degrees which made it melt.

Well expect a lawasuit or me in jail for manslaughter when I talk to the jack *** in person!

I got some TRUE therma flex and its not cheap stuff. I think you got ripped off with a look alike. A plumbing place is over stocked with the stuff and is selling it relatively cheap. Only colors are blue and green =/, but w/e its cheap!

They may have sent me the protoype that they started with but it was sent from them and I had spoken with Dave when the group buy was going on. They are not smooth like all the other ones i've seen. They look like electrical tape wrapped around a rubber tube colored blue (w/purple tint).

If the rubber oem hose didn't melt at $25 then Silicone at $160 shure as hell better not melt at the same temp or what in the truck did I pay for? People and companys allways try and **** you over and they just need their freekin asses kicked!

Besides the melting problem, the fiberglass is brittle and it crunches when you squeeze it. If it causees me an engine that hose is going up that frockers *** with super glue!

OK, I went to their Cerritos office today and they moved out 6 months ago. Their website still has their disconected phone numbers and old address. The customer service email bounces back and only the sales one works.

I emailed the person that said it was my fault for installing the hose incorrectly and mentioned that I will post this on all sports car forum and will start a class action bad faith lawsuit. Oh, now he is willing to look at them but still won't admit they are faulty and says since they were next to a heat source most likely they won't be covered. OOOOOOH, it's really too bad I did not get to meet him in person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How in the heck can he tell me that it was too hot but the rubber hose never melted and silicone should handle twice the heat? ...is he retarded? WTF does he think I paid for? ...freekin Fast &Furious colors for $160? OEM hose is $25
Thermal Flex hose inserted here --->

I hate using cheap *** quality products on my FD, that is why I'm using Samco's hoses. From experience these hoses are outstanding quality and definitely held up very well. Good luck with your task.

Silicone hoses should last you at least 10 years of coolant service. I am not surprised at the customer service you are receiving. A high quality silicone hose if kept under 400º should last 10+ years. This is about the 5th time I have heard about this on Thermal Flex hoses. I guess I should just break down and make a tool to make these

On a second note, one of the previous owners of Thermal Flex just surfaced buying and reselling hoses made in China (So I have been told). When I get more info I will be able to pass it on.

Yeah, the jack hole said that "ALL" silicone hoses will turn brittle in one year and crunch when you squeeze them ...focking lying P.O.S. needs his freekin *** kicked inside out!!!

My friend won a set of Smaco hoses and the quality is night and day. His is perfectly smooth and mine looks like it was wrapped like a mummy.

I'll be happier shoving it up his then getting my money back. Allthough, i'm afraid I will snap his neck and not have a self defense witness. Anyone wanna go to San Diego with me tomorrow?

Well I drove two hours to San Diego on the edge of the border (think i farted in Mexico"lol"). I brought the hoses and showed it to him. Apparently they do wrap their hoses by hand and Samco (I think) extrudes it. The company pretty much no longer exists. The bulding was really a small wharehouse (no name) with an office and all the production is done in Mexico (accross the street). He said he was just part of the buyout company and the original owner has allready decalred bankruptcy. So much for the law suit. I demanded that my hoses get inspected and if found defective I wanted another set (for sale cheap).

They own the company and are liable. Although I don't think anything will come of this since they can still claim nothing is wrong with them. Now that they have my address I can't resolve this by other means without consequenses. Anyhow, I wouldn't spend a tank of overpriced gas and 1/2 a day drivinging I didn't feel I was taken advantage of. People and company's allways gamble that you will not speak up or fight back, especially with small amounts.

I would think having full production in Mexico and still claiming to be a US company may not be legal. But it's not the new owners that i'm pissed at and i'd only want money from the orginal owners pocket. I'm not askin "show me da money". An apology, a replacement and some freekin' customer service respect is what I wanted.

Yeah what about this question, im curious too..?

SAMCOs are great on a side note, I have had mine all over my FD for about 2 years now, no problems, that includes turbo.

Yes, they are/were the radiator coolant hoses. I think i'm out $160 for them plus $25 for gas but at least i'm not in jail. Those hoses could have cost me my engine. The fiberglass is exposed where the silicone melted off. He tried to tell me that was from rubbing and that it couldn't have been from melting. I was sure that mine was defective and I would drive to freeking Mexico to scam for a new set. I don't like the implication of what he was implying and if he would of flat out called me a liar, I would have (censored). SOrry, I didn't think of taking a picture and if they don't replace them then I don't want that **** back because I will not resell them.

Sorry to hear this.

When you get new hoses, try Baker Precision, right across the street from Mazdatrix. Great people, great products. http://www.bakerprecision.com/

^ yeah, now the drama with Anaheim Gear but that's another thread.

OK, so anyhow I just got a replacement UPS a few min ago. I gave them both the upper and lower so they could tell it was from the same batch and I wasn't scamming. I got back an upper only. It says it's for a 93-95 but I think it's for a 1st gen. It's really short, maybe 1.5' in length. I really don't want to deal with an exchange.

I will give them credit even though I didn't get an apology which was more important then the replacement but the original was 1 ply and the replacement is 4ply which means they realized mine was crap and they improved their product. Whether it holds up temperature wise is yet to be determined.

Can someone tell me if the hose they sent me is for a 1st or 2nd gen? Or maybe they just sent me the lower?

The ones in the right picture look correct. The one in the left looks weird, could be for a 2nd gen, not sure but the bends dont look like a FD.

I have a set of Samco radiator hoses for the FC. I am looking at it right now. The picture you posted, looks like it "might" be the lower hose for the FC. BUT the thing is,...my Samco hose has a smoother transition from Point A to Point B. Your hose has an abrupt "angle" in the middle of it.

And this is ASSUMING that your hose will fit at all.

Feel fit to drop by my house and compare mine w/ yours. Or if you want, we can meet up some time. This weekend, I'm somewhat free. Send me a PM and I'll give you my contact info.

Dom
