pulling motor&trans w/ only 1 hook

well ill post a picture of what im working with.... i have no uim/lim so i only have one hook to pull with. what should i do for the 2nd one? im assuming the process goes something like this: unbolt PPF, unbolt driveshaft, unbolt motor mounts, pull electrical stuff through firewall, pull motor. do i need to remove the shifter? im i leaving anything out? -heath

You will have a hard time geting the angle you need to remove the trans with the motor. We used a load levelor and had to angle front out first in order for the trans to clear.

Yes, remove shifter.
Yes, oil and fuel lines. Tie down A/C and whatever with some coat hangers or bungie cords to fender. Drain "all" fluids.

why not just unbolt the trans? your practically there already and it would also be safer for you to use the one hook that way. when i pulled my motor i had to use a chain and a bolt. i had no hooks.

ok i have the ppf unbolted and motor mounts out... (youll see why i want to pull everything together in a sec) anyway, how do i disconnect the driveshaft from the transmission??? ill pull the shifter now and post some pics -heath

PS 1) do i need to drain the tranny fluid to pull the driveshaft? or should i just unbolt it from the diff and pull the entire drivetrain out? also from the first pic does it lok like ill have enough clearance to get the motor and tranny out in one fell swoop? thanks

The driveshaft will just slide of the tranny but you will need to drain it first. It will be hard for you with one bolt in the chain cause of the tranny side will be so lop sided you will have a hard time keeping it up to clear the front. I suggest you try to bolt the other side of the chain to one of the bellhousing bolts or put a bolt into were the LIM bolts up. This way you will have it a little more support
