Obviously, the later year RX7 you can afford, the better for the most part. However, make sure to get the one you can afford which is in the best condition.

if i were you i'd wait a year or two and get as much information from the forum as you can. you cant just buy an fd with no prior knowlege of how to service and maintain it with minimal problems.

you also have to be very careful when just buying one. alot of guys beat these cars to death and sell them for high prices to people who dont know any better. there are many things to take into consideration when buying an rx7. just something to think about...

Just don't be in a rush to get one.. took me 11 months to find mine... series 8 are obviously best being newer etc... but to be honest, I prefer the series 6.. the body is better (front bumper) and its moreeee rigid. all comes down to your budget, but keep in mind you will be spending ALOT of money on them... maintaining them etc...

Hey Throbby,

Definately don't rush ... Although these cars are awesome a bad one will severely damage your bank account.

I went to Sydney and purchased a S8 2000 (import) for $28,000 australian and had it checked out too.. 4 weeks in a seal broke. Most engine parts are readily available in Australia, but look out if you want the turbos rebuilt or you need to purchase new ones... I struggled for months.. I personally love the look of the series 8 ... subtle differences I know...Finding people who are good with rotaries is another thing to consider... My rebuild has set me back $12,000 extra and thats leaving it all stock standard!! I had a series II for 14 years and it was so much more reliable than the series 8, but oh my god the series 8 is the most stunning vehicle i have ever seen...

Regards
Ror

Thanks for yor suggestion, $28,000 that's good price.. all of those s8 on carsales is over $35000 so expensive.

you spent $12,000 for rebuild it?? for the engine...
