batman and rynberg, i've got a device i'm willing to sell you that prevents detonation. it'll only cost you $200, but i can't tell you what it is, or how it works. you guys interested? u guys are ******* idiots if you don't think kdr has to state what it is that they are actually selling. w/ a pfc, you don't have to know how it works, but you at least have to know that it's an ecu. i never said that had to provide an in-depth explanation as to how it works so it can be copied. but they do need to tell the consumer what it is that they're paying for. if you're out to buy a shirt you at least need to know that it is a shirt, the store can't just hand you a mystery box and tell you what's inside is some sort of "clothing device".

I think the point which they are making and exactly what you fail to understand is that perhaps its alittle early in the game for KDR to disclose this sort of info. My understanding is that the device is still in R&D. Maybe even in the beta test phase. Thats why some people have it.

As some people have stated....be patient.

No, I wouldn't buy such a device from YOU, it comes down to a matter of reputation, of which KDR has an excellent one. Also, as far as I know, KD Rotary is not MARKETING this item. They have installed it on a few local customer cars for more field testing, essentially. I guarantee that the few people running it have knowledge that they are not allowed to divulge at this point.

The point is, until KD Rotary is ready to MARKET this item, they don't have to provide us with a damn thing. Some of you guys need to get over yourselves....

That is only true once the product is mainstream and out in the final distrinbution phase.

But for now it's just finishing it's R&D and trial phase with a few select trusted customers.

So ur inpatience is ur fault in the matter.

First off, KDR NEVER went out in the public about this.

It started off in another thread discussing about it and if people knew what it was.

There was much speculation as to what the technology was about from various conjectures.

So it's much like the spy photos of various car manufacturers where the cars are in disguise and people bitch about not seeing it and so forth.

Just look at the new NSX that is coming out.

We know that it is coming, but Honda is GOOOD at suppressing details about it.

There isn't even any good spy photos of it.

Does that mean that it doesn't exist?

Then again ur just frustrated since u weren't one of the lucky few to get info from KDR.

KDR, does read these threads, but since they choose to spend time finishing the R&D and trail phase and making $$$$ from their mainstream revenue source, working on RX7s, they aren't wasting their time answering folks with attitudes like urs........

Thanks Rynberg, you stated my feelings exactly. And although I wasn't mentioned by name (probably cause I am a newbie here) in the ******* idiot statement, I take offense as I am getting the mod this coming week, and I stated it earlier in the thread several times. I am not a mechanic, tuner or even a wrench turner, I wish I was, but ain't and I probably never will be. So I gotta trust the people who have done me right, and that is why I am getting the device installed. And FDRacer I won't engage in talking about how good your female relatives and gf or wife or whoever give head, that just isn't nice to say. Oh by the way, as I have developed relationships with clothing and jewelry boutiques (which in the car sense KDR qualifies as), I have bought clothes on recommendation (without seeing)and jewelry for me wife and watches for myself on recommendation as well. And I have not been disappointed yet. That is what a relationship is about--trust and knowing the consumer.

Well, I do know that they have a bunch of those made and are getting ready for deployment.

However, they are working with regional channels and distributors to make sure that they are trained for the installation.

The last thing they need is some 'tard to **** the installation up and cry how the KDR anti-kaboom device cost them an engine.

Also, they are making sure that they have a reasonable quantity of products out there so that it will minimize the back order and time for the rip off artists to duplicate it.

One of the things that people need to realize is that shops like KDR realize that a forum like this can do good or some serious harm to their business.

A few peeps about how a shop fucked them over, or **** products and they would see a drop in new customer volume.

The simple marketing rule of thumb is that if a customer is happy he/she will tell only 4 people about the good experience.

However, if he/she is pissed off, he'she will tell 16 people on the average and add colorful metaphor to that.

now, if there wasn't soo many people that had easy access to bitching on this forum about such and such then this may have been out sooner.

sad, that a few folks can scare some good people off.

Just to clarify the Dyno Sheet posted. It's 16psi on a Stock port Reman. Goes right along with the prediction.
should have about 410 on 20psi, pump 93.
Got the stock port because when I blow the motor up after a couple seasons of hard Drag racing, I'll be out 2K vs. 4K+ for the race port motor. If I had the Race port you would be seeing 40more hp for the Single setup I have.
Next question is why would I want to run 89. I have the exact same question. I run 93, but running 93 allows you to run 20psi without worry for race gas, so that means I have to pay 1.53/gal versus 5.50+/gal when I go to the race track. Pays for itself very quickly and allows me to run high psi on the street.
Basically I don't care what anyone thinks about my dyno sheet, but I think everyone gets really carried away with the numbers and forgets that it's only numbers. It's all about the 1/4 times. I'm expecting a low 11 on 93 pump stock motor. Not to bad in my opinion. Not the fastest around, but not bad for a 500 dollar replacement turbo, and a 2K replacement motor.

Look at the hp to tq comparision 371.2hp 313.7tq(mine)
439.7hp 343.3 tq(roys)
439 is some good hp, but with this device I would predict about almost an increase of 40 in tq, and the tq would come on sooner in the RPM Range.
You guys can argue with me all you want, but I've seen the dyno graphs at KDR between stock twin cars with and without the device, and I've felt what my rx7 acts like with only 371hp for now, until I do a few more mods I don't want to talk about right now.
My point is that everyone is hung up on the peak hp numbers when they are not the numbers that get you down the 1/4mile. The track is a whole different ball game than just putting some numbers up on a dyno, and saying my car is better than yours. LOL...
Goodluck guys and no matter what your decision is about this device, I'll see you at the track and we can both enjoy these fine automobiles. The best part about these cars is there are few that are the same.
