NPG+ leaking from water pump
Whenever the car gets really really hot (seems to be only when it idles for an hour...) 105-108C I noticed coolant on the ground. I finally found the source while putting in a couple cans of R12 to fix my AC (It worked!!)
Where the water pump seals with the engine, coolant seeps out. I'm afraid to tighten those bolts too tight since they are those 10mm ones into aluminum. The engine is new (2000 miles or so) but the water pump was not replaced at that time, although the gasket was supposedly. Do I need a new gasket or just tighten the bolts a bit? Thanx!
Oh this is on a 93 R1 ( http://fd3s.nopro.com )

i had the same problem. i just changed the water pump and the gaskets. its not worth just changing the gaskets and then find out its ur water pump and having to do it all over again.

I doubt that just tightening the bolts will stop the leak, it's never worked for me. It may just be a bad gasket that's causing the leak but I agree with the advice to replace the water pump as long as you are changing the gasket. Especially if you're still on the original water pump.
