Another starting problem
Hello peeps,
So I’ve been having trouble starting the FD and thought upgrading coil packs to the IGN-1A smart coils and upgrading the starter to the Banzai Racing starter would help but it still has trouble starting so thought I’d take it here to see if anyone can help. The weird thing is it would start if I jump start it with my portable but I don’t think the battery is the problem as it cranks but won’t start if I don’t jump it. I just got the battery not too long ago also so I don’t think the battery is the problem. Has anyone had this problem before if so any help? Thank you!

Low compression will cause the engine to not start if the cranking RPM is a bit low. Jumping will increase the cranking speed. Have you done a compression test?

Also, if the compression is low enough, even your "good" cranking speed may not be sufficient for starting.
