Aluminium Interior Door Pull Handles for RHD?

Hi Guys,

Does anybody happen to know if the interior aluminium door pull handles exist for RHD models? I'm taking about the ones that slip over the lock mechanisms. I can find LHD ones no problem. Given the number of RHD's out there it seems like a wasted opportunity not to manufacture them.

​​​A 3D model would be great too. I have access to a 3D metal printer so I'm thinking of making my own. I can get a 3D scan myself using the lidar scanner in my phone but I'll probably have to spend a bit of time refining the shape?

I assume you are talking about the door pull cups?

Rotary13B1 made them, doesn't look like they ever did a RHD one. They are cast aluminum, it would probably be worth them making an RHD version but that is a lot of up front investment to make a cast part happen.

Thanks again Dale.

Looks like it's going to have to be a metal 3D print. I'm considering doing a chopped carbon reinforcement on the inside of the door cards and centre arm rest/console as well to stiffen them up and reinforce some connections. I don't know if its just mine but everything on the interior I touch cracks, creeks or rattles, and mines it really good condition visually. I'd have loved sit in one brand new to compare the noises.😂

ahhh....
Once upon a time, someone made a bracket of sorts to better secure those cups to the door sheet metal.
Mine squeak and rattle too. Annoying.
I'd definitely throw some money at a product that felt better and eliminated squeaks.

For the price the LHD set are good value compared to most FD parts.

I've already installed the exterior aluminium door handles and they made a massive difference. Peace of mind if nothing else as my handles are pretty stiff.

If I can make get a good 3D model I'll probably send it off to a die cast manufacturer for a quote. Madeinchina.com is great for stuff like that.

I'll be sure to post an update of anything comes from it and the file.

Even with just a 3D model file there are plenty of online CNC and 3D services online. Could have some some swanky billet aluminium ones manufactured, or Titanium if you really wanted to show off 😁

How much do these kinds of services cost? I've assumed that one-off metal pieces would be prohibitively expensive but maybe times are changing?

I have had plastic 3D objects and metal laser cutting done in the past and the price was fair.

The more tech-savvy companies allow you to upload a 2D/3D design and they can provide an instant quote based on the cost of material, manufacturing time, and a bit of profit. For example, I got all my FD's block-off plates laser cut from 4mm stainless and it cost me less than £20 ($25). I would have been looking closer to £75 if I were to just buy them and they would not have been stainless.

Metal 3D printing is probably a bit more expensive as it is a new technology. Fortunately, my brother's employer has one and he has offered to print my pull handles. I just need to make the 3D model.

If you were to mass produce then die casting would be the best. I'm almost certain that's how the pull handles above were produced. madeinchina.com is great for stuff like that and I think it is quite affordable if you are willing to buy a few hundred.

The Rotary13B1 Aluminum ones are great! It provided greater strength and reduced squeaking noises in the cabin.
