Hi! How's it going guys? Is the door latch on the RHD right side(driver side) different from LHD right side(passenger side)? Because I have a RHD but the door latch assembly on the right side is broken. Can I put a door latch for LHD instead? Or do I have to look for a RHD right side door latch assembly. Are you talking about the latch inside the door that actually closes around the U-shaped pin on the body to hold the door closed?

It's slightly different. The passenger side door has the actuator for the power lock, which means the US right side latch has the actuator, the Japanese left side latch has the actuator. It's not easy to swap over.

Considering they made like 5 times more RHD cars than US-spec cars you're probably better off just tracking down a real RHD part.

I'd think the metal U on the body side would be interchangeable, but to Dale's point the pieces on the inside of the door might be different.

 

How do I attach images on here? so I can attach an illustrated parts breakdown. Maybe we can talk about it more by looking at it.
