Alternator Bolt Thread Pitch + Length

I recently broke down my alternator to powder-coat it and the 4 front screws/bolts that are closest to the pulley shaft have gone MIA .

Can anyone verify the bolt length/thread pitch so I can get replacements? Last resort is an alternator shop but I'd rather not pay a premium for simple bolts. I tried atkins and a search only brought up info on reassembly, making sure the bolts are tight etc etc. Thanks.

You could also go to any U PULL IT type salvage yard for any 90s era MAZDA with an alternator.

The 4 little bolts that are closest to the pulley are:

thread pitch 0.8
bolt length 15mm
bolt thickness 5mm

I'm in the process of doing the same thing to my alternator, sand blasting the casing and the powder coating it. Let me know if you have any advice how to properly disassemble it and then reassemble it. Thanks

Thanks. And sure, here is basically what to do and not to do!

There is one hidden screw on the stator assembly that you'll have to unscrew at a funny angle, the video explains it.. and pulling the thing apart was PIA but by slowing working it carefully, it came apart. I accidentally powder coated the entire thing ... The ground points and cage bolts having a good ground connection are crucial. And they have to be super tight. Thanks for the post! Hope I returned the favour.

Oh and some people still had ground/charging trouble, some didn't.. The powder insulates everything.

Thanks, I got it apart gently, after I saw the video everything made sense. Mine actually popped out quite easily with very little force.

Does the front bearing need to be replaced once its pushed out or can it be reused?

I'll make sure to mask all the ground points before applying powder.

Thanks!

I haven't had issues reusing the bearings. Been 8 or 9 years now.

Thanks. Mine feels solid and has no play, so I might just reuse it.
