Alternator
Alternator
I was working on my 93 and I accidentally set an aluminum pipe down on the alternator post closest to the firewall and it sparked. No power now. optima red top battery is registering 12.6. any ideas? is there a fuse? thanks
You have the protective boot over the alternator post? A lot of cars are missing these and its dangerous. You can make one but cutting up an old set of spark plug wires and using one of the boots.
I'm not positive, but think the 2nd Gen. Probes had the same cover, or one close to it. A trip to the local salvage yard or "U-PULL-IT might be worthwhile... if you need one.

He was pretty impressed by what Ihor and I do at the shop with the used spark plug wire boots..... "Daaaamn, you guys are pretty ingenious! I've been needing one of those bastards for a while now!"--Ray.
