CA 4th Times A Charm:FD won't start.

Ok I'm at the point of killing myself or selling my car.
Put in a set of NGK Platinum spark plugs running all 9's as people have said to do. Under 5 miles on them. I assumed I flooded my motor...I don't know how considering I started my car 2 days ago...let it completely warm up didn't even drive....had it running for 5 minutes....then ran the turbo timer for the usual 2 minutes. And she shut down. Went to start her today and nothing. Its like she wants to....and then doesn't so I pulled/cleaned the plugs. Did the deflood ordeal. And still nothing. pics of the new plugs below. Now when I go to start it/crank she either puts & wants to start up or if I crank i get light smoke out of the exhaust/underneith the car. I figure its the gas burning.

Again the worst part of all. I purchased the car with a bad double throttle solenoid. I've never had the chance to feel my car. And was plotting this week the path to the rich mans non-sequential or single turbo route. I also have a fix it ticket due next week. This is my dream car...and its turned into a nightmare Well....a sexy nightmare.

I want to say the car is running really rich so it keeps fouling the plugs...however. I dunno at this point.

Mods on car:
Apexi Intake
HKS downpipe
Catback exhaust
Radiator
Walboro Fuel Pump

Stock ECU

You might have a fuel problem if your plugs look like that with 5 miles on them.

It cant be a tuning issue because you're on the stock ECU.

I think its a stuck open or a leaky fuel injector(s).

Sounds like an injector issue, replace the plugs again with new ones. Before installing them repeat the deflood procedure. If you have the stock pump reinstall it and see if it helps with the flooding problems.

I dont have the stock pump....and it seems like this is a fairly new issue with the car. Seriously don't know what to do. Ordered new spark plugs cause apparently the coppers aren't adequate enough for the FD. And they dont sell platinum or Better in stores in LA you have to order them

You dont need anything better than a plat plug, you have another issue which is most likely a fuel problem. You can put 50CT diamond plugs in your car, if you have a fuel problem, those will be shot too.

I think you know what to do now.

I agree with this as well and would say go ahead and take the turbo timer off while you're at it. I'm not saying it's contributing to your problem, because I don't think it is, but you don't need a turbo timer on a car with stock twins. You can sell it and pick up something you could actually use.

Have you checked the condition of the fuel pump. It's worth a try if you have absolutely done everything else.

I have to say it because nobody else did. Check the vaccum line on the map sensor first. Do you have an iluminated CEL?

How much fuel is in the tank? I had a car here before that read 1/8 a tank but turned out to be damn near empty because whoever changed the fuel pump bent the level sensor out of position.

By the looks of your pic, you may want to consider changing the oil pedestal o-rings soon. Looks like you are leaking some oil there.

That should have been Mazda's slogan for this car when they marketed it in 92-95

Update. The Brand new battery I bought died. So I swapped plugs & went to jump start it.. Car started right up...ran for 17 seconds..then died on its own with the other car used to jump it left off high rpm.

Pulled the plugs again. Cleaned em off. Did the de-flooding procedure since I smelled gas *since it just shut off after not being driven or cooled off or anything for days* Started up again...then just died. So I pulled the plugs... holding onto them since they aren't fouled. Now it seems I need an alternator.

To Be Continued. (And end by this weekend. My birthday is Wednesday and my goal is to have her running by this weekend)

I might break down and get a Genesis Coupe Turbo with a GT30R or kill myself. Who knows.

how would i fix "leaky" injectors. Replace them? get injector cleaner? or send them out to be cleaned & blue printed. Which doesn't fit in my wonderful time frame.

Sounds like you have some definite electrical issues as well - the fact that you drained a new battery so fast makes me wonder whats going on. Did you or do you know what kind of, if any, electrical work was done to this car?

just my gauges and cd player. Gauges are on a source that only go on when i start the car. Its the alternator. I'm buying a new one this week. The brand new battery died because of the excessive cranking trying to start the car forever and then it just sat in the car for a month & its been freezing cold in LA at night. I think thats what did it. Regardless my vehicle is going in to Harman Motive/AQ Motorsports. Adan is a famous technician for Subaru, Mitsubishi, and was head mechanic at Mazda for many years. He's gonna take care of me. I walked into the shop the other day...which is typically full of 500whp+ subarus & S2k's or a GTR....and it was all FD RX7's. Put a huge smile on my face

I had a similiar issue...it turned out the relay(s) to the fuel pump shorted out. I replaced the relay(s) and it fired right up.

Do you have some relays that are going back to the fuel pump?
