get an idler pulley, Its been proven with pics that w/o one the bearings in your engine will eat themselves pretty quickly unless your running an idler pulley to keep tension on things. Plus it will give the belt better grip on the water pump pulley and keep it circulating well. Talk to the folks you buy the pulley from, they can tell you what belt you will need.

The Greddy kit is fine if you don't over torque the belt tension. However, that basically goes for "any airpump delete kit".
You need to do something so that you increase the contact with the waterpump pulley. That can be done with an idler pulley or using a pulley kit like Greddy.

check rotary performance, they sell the pair for $40, or you can use a tape measure and just thread it around the pulleys and measure that way. Just make sure to push the air pump, alt all the way IN so you get the minimum size needed for that belt, and tension pulley for the P/S A/C all the way OUT so you can get the appropriate size belt for that. the local auto part store should have both in stock, or something close enough to work.

If the OP isn't willing to do one of those things, he should have left the AP on the car. Simply using a shorter belt isn't a smart thing to do. There will be precious little belt contact on the waterpump pulley.
