air pump delete
hey guys
i need to get rid of my air pump i have all stock pulleys and was wondering if anyone knows the belt number i need to delete the air pump without having to buy a pulley kit thanks, VJ |
get an idler pulley, Its been proven with pics that w/o one the bearings in your engine will eat themselves pretty quickly unless your running an idler pulley to keep tension on things. Plus it will give the belt better grip on the water pump pulley and keep it circulating well. Talk to the folks you buy the pulley from, they can tell you what belt you will need.

u mean like the tweak it pulley kit? so you're saying the greddy pulley kit would eat up the bearings cus that doesnt have a replacement for the airpump, just an alternator and water pump pulley and shorter belt
|
The Greddy kit is fine if you don't over torque the belt tension. However, that basically goes for "any airpump delete kit".
You need to do something so that you increase the contact with the waterpump pulley. That can be done with an idler pulley or using a pulley kit like Greddy. |
does anyone know the belt number to just replace the factory belt for the stock pulleys for now though, i need to drive my car again asap
|
check rotary performance, they sell the pair for $40, or you can use a tape measure and just thread it around the pulleys and measure that way. Just make sure to push the air pump, alt all the way IN so you get the minimum size needed for that belt, and tension pulley for the P/S A/C all the way OUT so you can get the appropriate size belt for that. the local auto part store should have both in stock, or something close enough to work.

295K4 is the belt number.

Or ever better - suppor a local legend and give Cam at Pettit a call.
(561) 844-2258 I would bet he has it in stock up in WPB. |

Why drive over a 100 miles to see Cam, so he can just sell you more stuff? |

If the OP isn't willing to do one of those things, he should have left the AP on the car. Simply using a shorter belt isn't a smart thing to do. There will be precious little belt contact on the waterpump pulley. |
