Accident. Help me fix this.
So this is what happens when you lend your brother your car one nite. Now fellow forum members....what do i do? What should i get. And how much..What parts do you recommend. And why wont the wheel turn to the right?, and only to the left.
Thanks. I'm crying as i type this. I'm thankful he didn't hurt himself. Since I can always replace parts and not a human life. He turned off the engine as soon as it happened. Do engines fail due to something like this? (such as hitting a hard force?)
Thanks.

Umm where is my sway bar?

Driver side swaybar mount

Passenger side swaybar mount

The Damage

The farthest right the wheel will turn?

....

Subframe reparable?

I'm sorry to hear that... you are right, though, at least your brother was not harmed.
As long as there is no visible damage the engine should not be affected. The only way to find out is to run the car when everything is fixed again.
Good luck.

Yeah, guess I got a good reason to upgrade the bushings and mounts. Yeah hes pretty shaken, he said he hit a median actually (seeing from the yellow paint)? and took out a sign too? I'm really not sure how it happened, I'm just glad its nothing too extreme.
What do you guys this about the Subframe crack? And why the wheel's wont turn right but only left? Where i live there are no other FD owners so i can't really look at another FD and see whats wrong with mine.

Sorry to hear that, What was damaged in your FD. If the pix would help feel free to post them.
what the hell did he hit?
he did quite a bit a damage to the suspension there.
its no wonder the wheel wont turn all the way with all that twisted metal around the steering rack.
the sway bar is right bent.
the subframes bent
whatever he hit, he hit it hard
what part of canada do u live in. 99% of the country is covered in snow and there was a single turbo fd running around it in?

hey!! wow thas alot of damage!! but at least your bro is k... did he lose control or something?? thats got hurt since you just got your fd back not too long ago! i feel for you man. but look on the bright side its all fixble! if you need sum suspension parts let me know!
An RX7 specialty shop should be able to source parts and install them most cheaply and quickly. Did the oil pan get banged up? If so, a specialty shop can fix/replace the pan and check the motor to make sure everything is OK or fix what isn't.
Not sure driving an FD in Canada's mountains during the winter is the best idea. Black ice can be anywhere.

Yea I would let a shop fix it. It could of been a lot worse. This horse will ride again.
I crashed my 1st FB like that in 1988 with similar damage hitting a tall curb after loosing control on a corner.

First, I'd replace anything that was struck. The subframe should be replaced (not hard). You've got a load of suspension parts to replace. Have a body shop check it out and make sure the front frame wasn't tweaked (striking things in front can pull the frame in toward the engine).
Might want to get your alignment checked too

If you have decent insurance they should cover up to 50,000$ of damage when someone else is driving.
Start looking for parts in the used section, an FD in winter is no joke I once had to drive my FD in winter and never again anything more than 20% throttle was sideways action.

Well, I would say its my fault that I let him drive, but his fault for what happened, so he is willing to pay....And there is no airbags in the car, and i'd rather not go through our insurance since unlike in your area ours is not private and they would raise my rates and i'd have a claim on the car...where is right now..the car has zero claims on it.
I probably will not take it to a shop, since like i said i live in a smaller town and they would most likely rape me for prices, but I'll check around.
Yeah I already got Pm's and e-mails going around, for a used subframe, M2 front and rear swaybars with stronger mounts (any reviews on them?)
