... (accident in the FD)
well tonight, im going to meet up with some people to grab a bite, i got off rt 29 on rt 103, im driving along, all of a sudden the person who was about 10 feet in front of me slams on the brakes because they almost miss a turn, so without much time i hit the brakes, but instead of stopping i just see my self sliding right towards them at probally aobut 50 MPH, all i remember after that is my face slamming into the airbag. When i woke up probally about a minute later i look out my window and its completley black, im thinking o god i flipped im not going to be able to get out and ****, but i noticed it wasnt the ground i was looking at, it was my hood, which somehow ended up next to my door. So i get out of my car, take one look at it, and get the worst feeling in my stomach. my bumper is into pieces all over the ground, my headlights are everywhere, intercooler piping and intake piping completly bent lying all over the ground, it was the worst feeling. its even hard to talk about it here. as of right now my face is burnt from the airbag and my shoulder, back, neck, and jaw are in alot of pain, but my heart is by far the worst, just having to look at my car. I plan to go to where they towed it tomorrow to take some pics and try to get it back to my house, and i plan on gettin a cheap car to have to drive around, put the 7 in the garage and slowly repair it. Eh i dk what else to say, im still in shock, and get this, the guy i hit, who ended up with only small dents, didnt bother to check if i was alright, he gets out of his car, looks at his, and goes and sits back in his car. If you saw my car u would wonder how im still alive, and yet he didnt bother to check if i was ok, which just really upsets me

Wow! That really sucks dude. I had a really close call myself with someone doing the exact same thing. Bastard slammed on his brakes and then jerked over to the next line to avoid missing his turn. I almost hit him once from behind and then a second time trying to dodge to avoid his braking. Glad you're okay, but that totally stinks regarding the car. And what an ******* of a guy. So he just sat there and waited for the cops? I'm guessing the accident was your fault?

Yup he just sat there and the paramedics got me out, theres a couple factors from the accident thats leading us to believe we actually have a good chance in court

Terrified.
I'm sorry to hear that. It sucks to hear about another 7 going down. I'm assuming you won't be able to get it fixed, and I wish you the best of luck in court as well.

Damn brent that sucks real bad. To be completely honest on the subject...dont even bother fixing it. Lift the motor and whatever else survived...strip it completely down, sell everything you can and buy a roller. The car will never be the same. By your description it sounds like its totalled. If that much stuff was all over the ground and your hood was that close to you...there is almost no way it doesnt have frame damage. I wouldnt even bother. Good luck in court...take it easy man.

Sorry to hear about your car and I'm glad to you are unhurt but you don't appear to have learned your lesson. You were 10 feet off somebody's *** at over 50 mph and THEY'RE the *******?
I really hope that as time goes by, you gain some perspective and see how you contributed to the accident.
I'm with turbodrx7, you are probably better off parting it out and buying a good condition roller... good luck.
EDIT - I can't believe you only had liability on it! If you couldn't afford full coverage, perhaps you should just wait until you are in a better financial situation to own one of these cars. Not saying that to be an *******, just trying to give good advice.

I half way hope they do cause from everything he has said so far all points to everything being his fault. He should be paying for the other guys car too. What makes you think that you should receive money for this accident? You were tailgaiting which can get you a ticket. From what I understand if someone gets hit from behind its automatically the person behinds fault for not following a safe distance behind. I think you will be paying for more than just your car in this case.

Regardless, hope things come out well otherwise.

Constant threat
Case closed if they go to court. HE was at fault, end of story. In rear-end cases, it is always, always, ALWAYS the fault of the following car....doesn't matter if the dude in front of you brake-checked the hell out of you and you plow into him. The following car has the responsibility to maintain a safe distance.
As for the guy he hit being an ******* for not checking on him....I think it was wise of him for several reasons. One, if I'd just been hit by someone who was following me too close, I'd be beating his *** to death if the accident hadn't killed him.
Two, in this litagious society we live in, we are told to NOT touch anyone that has been in an accident because they could "suffer" some additional injury (or claim they did) and then you are liable.
Final analysis, it sucks that the dude was in an accident, it sucks that he was hurt, but once again it is good that he is alive. And it is sad to know yet another FD is gone.

Here's hoping you recover quickly from your injuries. I know how bad chemical burns from the airbag can be.
Unfortunately, it definitely sounds like this car is a total loss. Part it out to recover some of your money. "Car looks like I should have died" and "no frame damage" don't go together. Please be safe when and if you decide to get another RX-7. People can and DO slam on their brakes when driving for various reasons. It's not their fault if you're following too close and nail them.
Sorry to hear the guy didn't come check on you. That's just life I guess. Get well soon.

i dont know why i said 10 feet, i guess my depth perception was a little off, cuz i was tryin to say i was deffinitly not tailing them, from when i hit my brakes, i didnt hit them for a good 4 seconds later, enough time for me to think about what was about to happen. and theres not much to pay for his car anyway, a couple dents, my car ended up going underneath his

full coverage wouldn't pay for all the aftermarket parts you put in
you'd only get part of your money back, but with the money you save on not paying full, you'd have that money to repair.
either that or he's not past the 25 or so, and he doesn't get a discount. i think if you're under 25 full is around 2500
