99+ apexi ecu on a 92 RHD FD

Ok so I had a stupid moment a couple of nights ago (i should not buy stuff when I'm staying up to 3am lol) I bought a power fc with a commander used and I did not see it was for the series 8's aka 16bit. in the guys listing description he says it can be modified to be used on a pre 99 car, is this true or am I just screwed now? if it is true how do I go about doing this?
I'm also including a picture of a comment from a thread in my search for my answer and am wondering if this info is all factual.

it can be done, you'd need something like an FCon harness for a 97+ car, and then cut it and splice the 92-95 plugs on, so one end plugs into the ECU and the other plugs into the harness

so it looks like those run around 300 dollars just from a quick search, basically, I should probably just try and resell the ECU and find a proper one at this point? sucks because I've seen these are pretty hard to sell

the reality is youre screwed yes. figuuring out how to make a jumper harness to make it work would be a miracle and not worth the time or money. yes, they are very hard to sell since the 16bit FDs only existed outside of america and the people in the market for them arent on rx7club. try and return it to who you got it from for at least a partial refund or something....
