lexan scratches really easily... plexiglas is still lighter than the windows but is more scratch resistant than the lexan.

FAL makes one for the rear hatch.
C-West makes a replacement rear hatch that has it.
Mazdaspeed (or what ever it is now) sells Lexan windows and stuff.
Panspeed makes fiberglass and carbon fiber doors.

people dont realize that the people actualy doing work on cars are not on the rx7club ALL the time. i am always at work and this is my hobby, so i am on here b/c i either have to be doing work or surfing the forums. if not, i would be working on my car or on someone elses. i do this only on my days off. same goes for MOST members. BUT the ones who are building the full tube frame race cars are NOT the ones on here all day long. but yeah... lets poke fun at the new guy...

Fal made by Flex-a-lite is probably your cheapest and best bet. I just got mine in and i'm gonna be taking the glass out to compare the weight soon. They claim that it'll save 50 lbs. so we'll see. I'm not holding my breath on that being a reality.

To be honest with you I thought it was someone that just registered and asked something like this to get a rise out of people, I didn't know it was meant to be a serious question, my bad. Sorry Jim for the insult, like I said I thought it was just someone screwing around, my apologies.

Steve

Well SlimJim, I guess I'd like to be the first to say welcome to the forum. "Most" of our member are very nice and helpful, and there tons of good info about FD's on here. Good luck breaking your RX-3 records with the FD, post some pics/timeslips/dyno charts when you have em. I know I'd like to see them.

i dont think there will be any problem breaking 10's w/ the fd. next step for the rx3 is to run low 9's untubbed. we gotta set a time jim. gotta get the *cough* *thing* in there and start playing around with it a bit.

When I talked to flex-a-lite about the rear window, they stated it saves about 11 pounds over the stock glass. It's only like 300 total with shipping so that's not to bad for the money.

I'd like to hear testimonials from people after having it in place for a month or two and whether its a daily driver, etc...wear, scratches.

Tim
