You, personally, had a Greddy RS and tested it at what psi? How did you ascertain it was leaking.

Update: I called Xavier, at RX7Store, last week. He told me that I blew all 3 apex seals on the front rotor. The housing and rotor was trashed. Also my E-shaft bit the dust as well.

Z showed me your rotor. Quite impressive carnage. Each of the 3 apex seals had a centimeter wide section missing in the center.

I didn't know that you could blow all three apex seals. Usually once two blow there is not enough compression to blow the third one????? Also, what exactly happened to my E-shaft?

Just got off of the phone with Xavier and he told me my tune was garbage. I sent my PFC in with my block so that RX7Store could load a base map to allow me to break in my new engine properly. He looked at my old map and told me it was bad. He said the values for running a 3bar map sensor weren't correct, and my timing was all off.

I completed this awhile ago. You will have to bore out the pettit pod to get that gauge to fit. IT bezel on the gauge is just too big to fit. My fits pretty well but not perfectly. I can send you pictures as soon as I get around to taking them. When do you plan on doing the install?

Update: Its been a while since I posted anything in here. Currently my exhaust manifold is being machined flat. Both the turbo flange and the motor flange were not completely flat. Then the manifold will be Jet Coated Black to help reduce under hood temps. My poly-urethane motor mounts are being shaved down 6mm due to my Ground Zero Oil Pan lifting the engine up 8mm. My Ground Zero LIM and stock UIM are also being ported. I ordered the RESpeed Oil Filter Pedestal. It is the new version that won't break like the old ones did.
Only about 4 weeks until I get home to put it all back together, can't wait.

Since my motor blew I am taking every precaution that is necessary. That meant sending my injectors into Cruzin Performance to be tested. Even though the injectors were fairly new, used for less than 3000 miles, I just wanted to make sure that they were flowing correctly. They tested out ok so I didn't have to have them fully cleaned. The testing, new O-rings, and shipping cost me $25.00 and they were very helpful over the phone too. If I would have had them clean them too it would have been $12.00 per injector plus shipping.

Here are the results of the test - (Injectors are 1000cc and 1600cc).
You must double each flow rate because they were timed for 30 second rather than a full minute. The injectors were tested at 3 BAR. Also the figure is a little high because the Specific weight of gasoline is slightly higher than the liquid that they used for the test.

I just went to a local speed shop. They primarily deal with drag cars, the owner was in a wheelchair with a broken leg from recently crashing his 5 second drag car. I went in to just pick up some Redline Water Wetter since they have good prices. I noticed that they had Cool It Thermo Tech products on their shelves. I ended up buying a 50ft. roll of black exhaust wrap to wrap my manifold and downpipe with. I also bought a can of the high heat coating that can be used with the wrap as well. I originally was going to have the manifold Jet Coated but I decided to go with the wrap instead because it is much cheaper. I can now wrap my entire downpipe and exhaust manifold for cheaper than Jet coating just the manifold. The other plus is that the wrap is black so it shouldn't stand out athat much.

Only 18 more days until I get to start putting her back together, can't wait.

(Sorry for the crappy picture. It was taken with my camera phone.)

Update: Just got back home around 1PM here in STL today. I went to RX7Store yesterday (SAT) and picked up my motor. When I got home I decided to start working on it already. So far I wrapped my manifold with exhaust wrap and coated it black as well. Then I put on my GZ LIM, waterpump, exhaust manifold, and RESpeed oil filter pedestal. Tomorrow I am going to get a cherry picker so I can put on the motor mounts and most of the other things.

Just to give ya a heads up, Redline water wetter is known to eat coolant seals. I'd advise not using it.

regular old coolant

motor looks good....but those cast oil aluminum pans make me nervous....if you run over a speed bump or a rock hits the pan it seems like could easily spilt and dump your oil in a heartneat

I've always wondered if that went for just the OEM seals or aftermarket as well.

About the Greedy RS BOV - Yeah they don't handle high boost, esp from something as monstrous as the GT42r. Had a guy blow lose GT35r because of SURGE!!! (not the soda), anyway.. the BOV didn't do it's job and it took a ****.

The HKS however is a pull type which works much better at high boost.

You might want to consider a true racing BOV or dual BOV setup using some reputable BOV's. The RS isn't something you want for the power you're shooting for.
