I bought a rebuild kit from a forum member recently that included side seals for an 86-92 , part number 11-C170-N326, based on mazdatrix's website here. The 93-95, part number 11-C170-NF01, are here. My question is, are they identical parts with just different part numbers? If that is NOT the case, what is the difference between the two and can I use the 86-92 side seals to rebuild my 93-95 motor?

I'm not aware of any differences in them, though the number is different. I've used the older number in the FD engine with no ill effects at all...

 

Interesting...the 86-92 ones are 1.59/each while the 93-95 ones are $6.21/each from mazdatrix. Are they just following the paradigm that FD parts are pricey or what? Anyone else care to chime in?

 

I have also used 86-92 seal in my FD with no problems.
