Finished convering my tails to 99 spec.. couple pics!

Ok first off the pictures make them look a lot worse then they are.. I just finished a little over 30 minutes ago.. and my digital camera isn't the best.. especially when youre trying to take a picture of a light and youre standing in the dark.. anyways..

The circles arent that close together as the pictures show.. and.. well they just look better in person. I'm gonna try to take pics in the light soon so they dont look like crap.

Look good to me too.

I also did mine myself. I wonder why so many people pay to have it done. It's not hard at all.

I used the oven (heat gun wasn't available). 190 degrees for about 12 minutes give or take. It's a wrestling match to get them apart

What did you use to seal the lights back? Glue, silicon?

When I did mine, I just reheated the sealant that was already there and put the tails back together. Never had a problem since.

Looks good!! Anyone who pays to have them done is a total loser and should kill themselves for not having enough skill to do it themselves (just a pun towards three of my friends who have had it done in hopes that they'll see this post lol, not to be taken seriously).

It must be if you're willing to pay $65 for an hour or two of work. Did you also have to wait the few days of turn around time?

Paint, black lacquer. I basically followed the procedure on iluvmyrx7.com to the letter and got some great results. Of course now that everyone is doing it I kind of wish that I hadn't.

Seriously, if you're mocking about $65....
What about Us "Loosers" that paid $450 for a Set !? I guess we're the same loosers who spend $$ on Genuine '99 Spec Accessories !?

Less unique, more conforming to the "everyone else is doing it so I should too" thinking. That said I think we've hijacked this thread enough , but if you have any other questions the PM button is there for ya.

^^word

and i just bought the real 99 specs (used though), i know its a bit more expensive but at least its real and i didnt have to go through the trouble of shipping my tails out to have them done or attempting to do it myself..

plus there is a difference between the real ones and converted ones..

what's the difference? I've been wanting to know this from ages ago..I've got the standard ones and thinking whether or not to get a genuine '99 tail compared to the DIY '99 tail

I was being sarcastic

how often do you see another FD on the road? How can you look like everyone else with FD's when you hardly even see an FD at all.
