8-5-8 boost patern

i just had a new enging dropped in and my boost is only 8-5-8. i couldnt figure it out so i took it to the dealership that put the motor in and now the mechanic cant figure it out either. the mechanic like most from the dealerships sais the my turbos might be bad. i had very low mile turbos put on and they boosting good when they were taken off the car. are there any good mechanics in washington state or near that anyone has had experience with that can help me. if so please tell me so i can get my car to them. the car runs great other than that but i want my turbos boosting currectly after all the money i just spent. i am not able to get on the forum a lot lately so pm me with any help.

Typical dealer ignorance. Turbos don't go bad in the process of removing them from one engine and putting them onto another.

What does happen is the technicians don't pay enough attention to getting the vacuum lines correct and then they don't know how to fix it either.

It's very possible that they forgot the pills in the wastegate/precontrol lines, or they damaged a coupler and now it's not making full boost. Or a vacuum line is misrouted.

I think you should continue and find a good local mechanic. At least you didn't let the Mazda dealer make you buy brand new turbos at full retail price because they crossed a vacuum hose. It's happened.

i live three hours away from the mechanic now and i want to find someone else to take to car to. i love to work on my cars my self but after working a 16 hour day i don't feel like doin much of anything but driving the car. i would like to know where a good mechanic is in the state or even if i have to travel out of state. believe me he is not talking me into new turbos. the ones i bought had very little miles and were only taken off the car to go single. i know they are not bad.

That is the most likely problem. Order a new wastegate and prespool control line from any Mazda dealer. They will come with the pills already in them. If you are competent enough to remove your airbox, you should be able to replace the lines. Here's a link to a diagram for installing a manual boost controller, that shows which 2 hoses to replace. Just put in the stock hoses.
