cant help you but it seems as though people with cages will tell you that DD'ing a car with a cage is dangerous. Even with padding you can still smack your head pretty hard.

^+1 unless its a real cage (weld in) and a full track car theres no point to have one in a DD (plus the danger part is another negative). Just get a raceshop or whoever rollbar if you want extra rollover protection.

yes it will be a weld in cage and because ihra rules state that 11.99 or faster need a 6 point cage and i'm about a half second below 11.99. The track i'm running at out here is enforcing the rules too. Its not a full track car, its a mixture of both in which case this daily driver needs a cage. so if theres nothing good to post other than "your DD doesnt need a cage" then dont post.

I was searching for the exact same info last night, cause everyone burns my *** for "not searching well enough" on this forum. But i found nothing as usual. I know new rules states that bars must cover your shoulder area now which makes it very difficult to Daily. But i dont know if removal bars are legal or not to compete with. It would be nice. Ill be following this thread.

yeah nhra is 11.49 but ihra is 11.99. it does suck, but o well. Then you get on a site thats supposedly helpful, dont find any good info in the threads people tell you to search for and then everybody just wants to criticize the fact that a daily driven car doesnt need a roll cage.

IWINULUZ - you dont have to have bars to cover your shoulders, the door bars just have to be between the drivers elbow and shoulder in height beside the seat and it can be removable or swing type.

Just get race seats (or rz) if you install a cage. Prevent the head smacking

On norotors.com there is a thread of people posting pics of their cages, on my phone or I would send you a link.

That looks great. I'd need to move the front points forward a little to clear the bins, but other than that i like it.

I considered this as well, but found it best to mount the main hoop where I did and just trim the bins to fit. If you put it further forward, you will sacrifice seat movement.

Yeah I was thinking about that as well. And i could do it the way you did the rear bars either because my battery is there. Saw those links, majority of those cages are complete overkill for me lol. Notice i said it is Daily Driven.

Decided to dust off the jigs and build a few more

Well it's been a while since I have been on this board. I decided to break out the jigs and build a few of the roll bars again. If anybody is interested shoot me a PM and I'll get back to you. Thanks.

Still have mine and love it...Almost looks like it belongs in the car! Possibly in the market for another.

+1 ^. I have your standard 4 pt bar, Id probably be in for a fully loaded model with door bars and seatback braces.

Nice work!

I'm amazed you guys have been able to squeeze cages into these cars. Strapped into the seat the top of my helmet would probably be 2 inches above the top bar.
