Just wondering whether or not it is possible. I know it's not uncommon to see FD's doing 400+rwhp on single turbos but I've never heard of anyone doing them with sequential twins. If anyone knows what type of setup to use please tell me how

 

Not on the stock twins but you could do it with a set of higher flowing twins.

I made 370 to the wheels from a stock motor and stock turbo setup, my friend made 396 out of the same type of setup with a ported motor and stock turbos, so the answer is YES it can be done, just gotta work on it a little more.

c'mon....someone has got to have something to say about his "360 RWHP stock engine/turbos" and "396 RWHP stock turbos" claim.

 

Many people have made 360+ HP on the stock twins. The highest dyno sheet I have seen was 385, but I have heard of a few people cracking 400. I don't know if those results were corrected or the result of a cold day. However, I think that puts more stress on the engine than a single making the same power (intake temps), so if you are shooting for 400, I think a single is the best way to go.

Get the A'PEXi RX6 turbo if you want stock-like spool up and more power everywhere above 3500 RPM. Its gets rid of the transition bump (which is fun sometimes, scary others) and actually makes a bunch more power in the 3500-4500 RPM range than the sequentials. It does not spool quite as fast as the sequentials, but it builds boost from about the same RPM so it doesn't feel laggy, and you get rid of the 4500 ceiling on the primary so it actually feels just as good or better around town. I know with the sequentials I would stay under 4500 to avoid the transition if I was just cruising around, but with a single that isn't an issue so even a larger turbo probably doesn't intrude on your driving experience as much as you might imagine. People with moderately sized singles (up to a T78) don't complain about lag, and I think this elimination of the transition point and thus the freedom to rev without penalty is one of the reasons. I always thought the single owners were just talking-up the mods the spent so much money on, but now that I have gone single I understand how the increased lag does not really have a big negative impact on the driving experience.
