For some odd reason my tranny wont go into reverse anymore. Does this mean its gone , or does it need some fluid? All other gears work fine.

 

same thing happened to me...

tis most likely a broken shifting mechanism or synchro parts lodged in there....

it often happens after a missed shift from second to third...

time for a rebuild...maybe you can try being a bit more forceful to see if its somehow welded or stuck...but odds are that your gonna have to pull the SOB.

might as well do the clutch while you are at it....I pulled my tranny and did the job...skimping on doing to clutch a while back....not three days after did the clutch for break and I had to pull it again..haha will never do that again!

It sounds like the 5th gear synchro went, just replace it and 5th and reverse will work again, they are both on the same synchro, that's why when 5th goes, reverse goes with it.
