20B Swap

Can anyone give me an idea of how much it would be to take a shell with everything but the tranny an engine and swap a 20b in it?

I would look in the 20b section for the answers.

The problem with 20B's, other then the fact that everything is compoundingly expensive, is that they are getting more rare. The $4500 jspec engine is simply a core, and from there, you will spend almost twice that to have it rebuilt properly. From there it's a web of fabrication, fitment and exceedingly expensive parts. The turbo, 20B manifolds, ECU, fuel system and all the fun stuff adds up so quick you will see that $20k bank account disappear!

The real question is, what are your power goals? You can create a no BS 10 second street car with a 13B and a proper setup.

So I ask.... why?

10k would onlh be if u had to replace most of the housings and rotors, theres no way it would be 10 grand for a base rebuild no one would be driving one.

I said almost twice. Twice is $9k. Initial cost is $4.5k. Almost twice would be around $6-7k.

My original statement stands. As mentioned, good example 20B's are getting more rare. The probability that you would have to replace internals is very likely. Do some research...

Not to mention, if you are putting a 20B in an FD, why on Earth would you consider a basic rebuild?

Use this thread to get you started:

If you have detailed questions after going through that thread, post in the 20B section:

Good luck.
