one thing we maybe haven't mentioned is that you need a LOT of sealant. out of the usual ~3oz/75g tube you should use most of it.
Mazda wants a 4-6mm bead, and you need to go around all of the bolt holes, then its not a bad idea to seal the mount to the pan, and put a little on the threads of the engine mount bolts too.

I would be careful with how much sealant you put onto the engine mount bolts. I watched a friend years ago apply too much and when he was torquing the bolt down it popped a big chunk of the cast iron block off, exposing a portion of the bolt. In the end it actually sealed up and has held. I think this was a compounding situation as the previous engine builder also put sealant on the bolts, and there was still some material left over in the bore. It created too much pressure and blew out a piece of the blocks bung. Its probably smart to chase the threads with a bottoming tap on used motors to make sure they are starting clean and free of debris.
