2 seater & 2+2?

Are both models in the US or is it only 2 seaters?

Just 2 seaters in North America. You can buy the rear seats and install them, but I personally don't understand why. They're useless.

I would hate to be any passenger that had to ride in the back seat of an FD. Bad idea Mazda!

Lol, are there any pictures of people sitting back there? That would be hilarious.

I was just wondering, because some appear to have back seats in their pictures.

Thanks

it's not so much about actually getting people back there. I've heard quite a few of the people who did the conversion saying it's just nicer than the bins, it provides a little cup to put things in that holds it nicer. Personally not worth the money to me, but if it's something your willing to spend the money on I don't see any reason not to. And if you had to put someone back there at least you would have the option, comfortable or not.

do the seats take away from the storage space in the back? or are the dimensions the exact same as a car without a back seat? The reason I am asking is because I have a FD on order from Japan and wan't to start on a custom sub box. I know a local guy who has a FD who has offered to let me use his as a model for my box. But his being a Canadian FD he doesn't have back seats.

yes, the rear seats requires the bins to be removed.... no leg room

imo, the person in the rear can side sideways and put their feed on the other seats (with shoes off ofcourse!)..... which makes the car a 3 seater ... a bit more practical than 2 .. just incase

It's a direct replacement for the bins, the backrest goes in place of the center divider. As far as I know it retains the exact same dimensions in the reat hatch, I don't see why it wouldn't unless the seat backs are somehow wider.
