In 1st Gear: Primary Boost only?

This was touched upon in my last thread but Im not getting a clear answer. This is one of those things were I was told a while back, that you dont get 2ndary boost in 1st gear, as a function of the ECU. I never questioned it since alot of other FD's locally dont have 2ndary boost in 1st gear. But Im hearing that yes, I should have it and I need to look at the 1-2 clip on the tranny??? someone please touch more on this. If I am infact supposed to be getting the 10-8-10 in 1st gear than why are so many people not getting it (including myself)? Whats this 1-2 tranny thing? Anything else to check for? *stock ECU

You should get a secondary boost, however the RPM's climb so much faster that you won't notice it until around 5500-6000 RPM but you definitely feel it

Well then I need to find how to get my secondary in 1st Gear. The lines going to my pressure chamber were checked when I fixed my Secondary boost leak a while back. But TurboJeff mentioned something about this 1-2 tranny clip? anyone know what he's talkn about?

The check valve that blew off of my car wasn't a line going to the black box, it was under it and I want to say it went to the UIM.

Crazy I know... I couldn't believe that one little check valve could do that, but once I plugged it in and went for a test drive...it was like I hadn't even driven an FD before

Can you tell me exactly which hose it is? Where does it go too? Or even point it out on the vacuum hose diagram.
Id appreciate it.

Okay I'm not totally sure by looking at the diagram, that thing is confusing.

just take off the pressure chamber and look under it. it might be the one that comes from the y-pipe and hooks to the black box (pressure chamber)...I might have made a mistake before. But your problem seems alot like what my car was doing when I bought it. That's why I'm saying check that spot.

This doesn't indicate if your problem was in first gear only.

I have a similar problem. If I get on the gas from a roll, I don't seem to get secondary boost. However, on a hard launch, it seems to give me secondary boost. I don't understand why this happens. Try the hard launch, and let me know if it makes any difference.

Any solutions?

Adam

The power first gear gave me after I found the CV discounted was unreal! Before I just thought my car was slow in first...didn't matter I wasn't in first gear long anyway right? Wrong, If I floor it 1st gear now, I loss traction and I have plenty of rubber on my rear tires. They're no slicks but they're Z-rated.
