yeah i think so as well.I think the uim is so plain looking.Having the engine type stamped on it would add some flash i think.especially if you polish the thing.

your talking about the 13B cosmo manifold. You can change them out, but it will require the LIM, UIM, and throttle body from japan. jspecracer7 on this forum has done it, and it looks great

I think those are from the Mazda Cosmos over in Japan. I think the jspec FD UIM's are the same as ours.

Not sure though, so don't quote me on that haha.

a link to the "other" forum, but an excellent writeup nonetheless!

Edit: The FD UIM is the same here as in japan, but the 13b cosmo UIM/LIM has bigger diameter runners, so it would yield performance gains in the top end.

whoa kick ***.so youre telling me besides having a nicer uim it would also act like a fully ported manifold system.Kinda like porting the uim and lim right?

that is pretty freaking cool.I may do that in the future.Although finding the right parts and gaskets would probably be a huge pain in the ***.Hmm I wonder if we can just get by on porting the uim and lim and also taking it to a engraving place or something. All they would have to do is to flatten out some of the manifold and engrave in large letters 13 b rew.Im just dreaming **** up but It may be possible.I cant believe that the older 13b cosmo manifold came with an aluminum elbow and the 13 b fd manifold didnt. That blows.I somehow feel cheated.LOL.Ohh well I guess the greddy elbow will have to do.

yes its a quick way of "porting" the LIM/UIM. Yes the cosmo came with a metal elbow that can be cut to any length/angle you'd need when installing it in an FD. Yes finding the parts will be the most difficult part of the entire project.

even here that isnt as manifold you see laying around. 20B cosmo was more popular back in the day..

the 13B is a tough find.

This one correct? But of course it can be found in better condition DAMN thats a lot of oxidation

No, the 2nd Gen came with a 13b, that is a 13b-RE, out of a Mazda Cosmo. The 2nd gen manifold says 13b Injection.
