13b rew question

Ok I was just sold a motor thats suppose to be a 13b REW with S4 intake/exhaust and turbo. Couple questions. How do I tell if its a genuine 98 13b REW and whats the diff between that motor and just a run of the mill 13bt?

13BT has the motor mounts on the center plate. The 13B-REW has the motor mounts on the rear plate. The front cover's are different. The 13BT has SMALL intake ports, especially the secondary intake port, when compared to the 13B-REW.

if it has an FB front cover, then it has the motor mounts attached to it right? FB = motor mounts on the front cover, FC = motor mounts on the intermediate, FD = motor mounts on the rear plate. That's the EASIEST way to identify.

How do you know it has an FB front cover? Where are the MOTOR MOUNTS located?

The s4 and s5 manifolds do not fit on a fd motor.

yeah, I forgot about that too. But do they fit the GSL-SE's? Or could it be a S4 engine with SA front cover?

the S4/S5 exhaust manifold fit, but the intake manifold bolts don't line up.

I think the reason is in the ports.

The FC ports are a different size to the FD ports, thus the bolt holes may be out of whack. Perhaps thats why they dont fit.
