13 psi cap info.

Just in case some of you needed a replacement for their Pettit AST or similar,

The 13 psi pressure-cap with vented lever is made by "Gates" and model 31511.

About 10$.

Bought a 16 lbs. Stant cap with purge lever for $3.99 at PepBoys.

I bouth THREE Stant caps until I got one that actually held 13 psi. The others were 9 at best.... one held no pressure, right out of the package! :P

Yeah, that lever seems to be a weak spot on those damned things. It's almost like a crap shoot. I had to buy two of them because the first one was bad, right out of the box.

btw, this is why a pressure tester pump is so important to have.

LOL.. I owned my FD for 8 months before I got a pressure tester. Once I did, my FD owned ME!!!

yeah you think they could make a radiator cap work out of the box....
