10-13-10 (intake/DP only)

Mods: Intake, DP, Disney Fan Mod

10 @ 3000
13 @ 4500 (transition)
10 @ 4500+ until about 6k then it drops off a bit to around 8

Only other car I found like this was 10-13-10 and it was heavily modded (IC, CB, etc.)

Is my 2nd turbo is on some serious Barry Bonds like steroids, or is it the intake?

Would a boost controller solve this? I may remove the intake this weekend and check out the results

No boost control/turbo work at all.

Pretty normal for a healthy car. Get a boost controller.

looks like you need a ported wastegate.. its not getting enough air out so it is creeping..

I would consider that a spike. Rather than a creep.

Those are normal figures for a lightly modded FD. If you decide to install more intake/exhaust mods, you will definitely need a boost controller. The spike (if correct) isn't that bad; I've seen a lot worse.

WRONG. He is not experiencing creep at all, just elevated boost. Don't give out bad advice when you don't know better....

A) Rynberg def. knows what he's talking about...so I'm going w/ him on this one

B) I KNOW he's right, because guess what Steve? I was running a 10-13-10 boost pattern when I first bought my FD. I know this is crazy, but the guy had intake, DP/MD/freeflow exhaust, and no engine management, NO other mods at ALL. Ran a VERY solid consistant 10-13-10. Needless to say, a Power FC was my first mod...

Oh, and I had spikes goin up to 15-16 psi if I recall correctly...

Boost controller is def. necessary, and engine management can't hurt For peace of mind tho, when you get your engine rebuild, get the wastegate ported.

~Ramy

PS...Steve, did you do the Disney fan mod yourself? Cuz that's somethin I've been wanting to do to my car...

here is the 'why' you are getting 10-13-10....my limited knowledge tells me....

the wastegate for the primary is basically the precontrol gate that vents air to pre-spool the secondary, ...with your flow mods the primary spools faster and easier, thus the control system has to vent more exhaust to try and keep it at 10psi, that means the secondary sees more pre-spool exhaust, thus get more pre-spooled up, thus when it come online you see a spike untill the main wastegate can get it back down to 10spi.

...as a side note, you can get the spike down by changing the PC restrictor pill size, but it will increase your primary boost becasue of their relationship, for example, you can change the pill to drop the spike down from 13 to 10~11, but your primary may go up to 11~12

Correction...sorry Steve, I dunno what I was thinking when I wrote that post. I wasn't running a 10-13-10. That would have made me scratch my head...

Stock is 10-8-10. I ran (and still run) a 13-10-13...which to me made sense, since I had intake and freeflow exhaust (DP/MP)

At least that makes sense to me...I'd hope that's good?

damian...the way I thought through my case is the stock wastegate is set to start opening at 7psi, right? (that's off memory, could be wrong)...and is fully open at 10psi. w/ less restriction, i can still build more boost, more boost than the wastegate can relieve...thus elevating my boost throughout...make sense??
