I have ordered a power FC and I wish to increase my
boost to 13 psi with the ECU. I am just wondering how
much HP give 1 psi of boost on a FD??

10-20 HP?

Most dyno charts I have seen show 10-12rwhp per psi at the peak point on chart.

Thats like asking how long a rebuilt rotary engine would last.... There are many variables that would amount to a specific amount.... ~10 HP is what most people refer to 1 psi as adding...

 

Also, running over 12 psi with the stock intercooler and fuel system = not good. Limit your daily boost to 12 psi until you upgrade your intercooler and fuel pump. If you run 13-14 psi, you really should consider getting larger secondary injectors to reduce duty cycles.

yeah you could expect 15hp for each pound above 10..on the stock car.. but you might want to consider what others have said about running 13+ on stock fuel system.

 

Ya I agree. I will stick to 12 lbs of boost until I upgrade
my intercooler.

i run PFC @14 lbs with a 3.5 incjh exhaust with a huge street port and race it in 1 hour enduros, and with a STOCK intercooler. and i have had no problems. Everyones an expert in this club when it comes to spending money on overpriced parts . Its fine as is . Just my experience.

 

ok smartguy(racedriver)...what injector duty cycles are you seeing on your PFC... I see 85% at .8 lbs of boost.

the stupid stock IC is probably saving your *** actually...considering you are sucking in a bunch of hot air... and I for never said that he had to change his IC..I just didn't want him to run 13+ on stock fuel system...you made no mention of your fuel system...are you stock ?

If you are "stock" this "expert" says you are living on borrowed time .. you are just dangerously on the edge ..thats all

for tweaked stock sequential, street port, and nice selection of bolt ons, 20 rwhp per psi, up to 360 rwhp at 14 psi. Per 12, 13 14psi dyno runs:

And then switch to nice big single, mabe 25+ rwhp. For more stock set-up .... mabe 12-15 rwhp per psi.

 

The comments fly fast because, most of the time people who say "stock ic is fine" don't know what they are even talking about. Shoot...the pressure loss over a stock ic is large. Very large. CJ
