I’m waiting to see what Rich and Gene are running now, always liked their taste in wheels and their car builds in general.

Crap. Here I was hoping to relip my AW-7s to 17x10.5, but I think that pushes me to a more extreme offset than this so it wouldnt fit. Dang. This looks pretty flush. I like.

Those SVE Drifts look amazing on the car and a good width and offset for cheap replaceable track duty.

Thanks! Depend on offset, but with a little camber you should be ok, I run 265/40 tires in the back and 245/40 in the front, front required a mild roll but rear is untouch.

Here's a direct view from behind.

Man thats some nice rubber I love it. Diffuser too.
I think if I do what I wanted it goes from the 17x8.5+35 that it is to 17x10.5+22. Might have to do to 17x10 to make it +28 or so. That should be alright. 0.5 in stagger at that point, not bad. If my math is right. I would like to avoid excessive camber wear, if possible. 265/40 is what I intended to run on them.

Racing Beat wheels, one of only 2 sets I know of in the country. Made by Racing Hart Japan for RB back in the early 90's.

Real 3-piece wheels, 17x8 front, 17x9 back, +35 offset. Fit like a glove, they were designed to fit the FD.

Don't get me started on what I went through to get the center caps!

What kind of tires are the 265s? Sadly it seems as though 265/40-17 is extremely uncommon... I see that Goodyear has an "Eagle F1" but I feel like you never really hear people talk about Goodyear? There is also the Bridgestone Potenza S007A that Tire Rack claims to have, but Bridgestone's website doesn't think exists.

Thanks, Blue! I completely agree. I almost pulled the trigger on some Fikse or Volks, but ultimately I decided I didn't want to stress about cone marks, curb strikes, and pothole hits on a set of high end wheels.

I appreciate you bringing these wheels to my attention. At a bare minimum they were a less expensive way to test out these offsets and tire sizes. Ended up really liking them to the extent that i bought another set to put A7's on.

@alexdimen can you post some pics of how rolled your fenders are and how you shimmed the fender liners?
I'm in the process of trying to roll my fenders and struggling to figure out how much is enough. I've never rolled a fender before.

Are they LSR's or RB-02's? More pics. I saw a set of LSR's on YAJ recently, but couldn't do it.

They did originally have the Land Speed Record stickers on them. As far as I know they just sold this style in the US.

I refurbished them when I got them and didn't bother with the stickers, it was a little busy with the stickers on 1 spoke and on the wheel lip as well.

Man... I'd love to. With Coronavirus, both adults working from home, and two kids under 3 in the house with no daycare I get out for a random highway blast or tune session maybe once a week in the evening if I'm lucky. Maybe once all this mess blows over I'll have a little more time. We could meet up at the first VMSC auto-x event... whenever that is going to be. I plan to be there.

Nice FD and wheels btw!

Certainly. I had never used a roller either. I would say they let you know when enough is enough. Mine kind of just... stopped rolling under and got stiff. Take a look...
