Wonder what inspired this wheel design....

Nice! What car is that? That definitely looks to have inspired the design of the RB wheels.

2 of my wheels were actually prototypes, I think they originally had stuff saying they were built in '91 or '92. These wheels have been around for sure.

Any of you old timers, I got them from Vosko some time back.

I'm not quite sure how that similarity came to be. Could have been the same design house on the XJR15 wheels and the Racing Beat wheels. I also noticed a lot of other styling similarities, especially with some of the OG RE-Amemiya bumpers.

The Mazdaspeed MS-02's seem look like the XJ220 wheels to me, too. I'm not sure if people were copying each other, or if it's just convergent 90's bubble style. Makes me wonder.

Anyways, your wheels are really killer. Some of my favs. I really like the early JDM wheels designed specifically for the FD.

Cool

18x9.5 +29 Advan GTs in semi gloss black. They are wrapped in 255 / 40 / 18 Michelin Pilot Sport AS / 3 tires. Nothing too crazy on the tire front as this is my daily driver (thanks Florida) Fitment is a little tight and I think I'm going to step it down to 255 /35 /18. Very minor rub currently. Not enough to keep me from driving it.

Question Sweet SSM!

^ Very nice! Love the Advan rims!
BTW. I'm in Melbourne, Fl. Are you new to the area?
I haven't seen your FD around.

I’ve owned three black cars and told myself I would never own another. Almost made an exception for the FD...

varrstoen es6 18x9.5 front 18x10.5 rear with a +22 offset as far as i know that is all they make
235/40 front, 265/35 rear
unkown alignment specs, I need new tires and an alignment
20mm over fenders on front rear looks rolled

not crazy about the black wheels with black car and the rear fitment is not right

I think they look pretty slick and suit the car, but I'm not much of a wheel nut myself.

Met him up at Daikoku a few years back. Static fitmet close enough to pin a 1000 yen note between tire and fender and have it hold. Was good stuff.

Not mine. See his insta for more details. I dont think he's on here

Rebuilt and step lip converted vsxx 😍 i always loved bbs lm but i also love vsxx when they are step lipped. 10.5j rear and 10j front. Haven’t exactly dialed in fitment yet as i have completely overhauled my suspension since these photos and i’m also going oem 99 spec aero 😎
