Cool $8000 to spend. How?

Hello ppl.

I have a Blue 2000 Type R. The mods i've done are HKS J-spec intakes, 3" cat back exhaust, HKS hiper dumper suspention, AVS 17" rims Potenza S-03 rear 255/30/17 front 225/35/17, GT wing, Momo steering, Blitz SBC-iD boost controller + power meter, Blitz DC gauges temp, pressure, boost.

They approved me a loan of $8000 that are gonna be spent on the FD. The only prob is that i dunno how? Any ideas?

Go single.

$3000-4000 for the single kit,
$1300 PFC/Commander/Datalogit,
$400 1300cc secondary injectors
$400 HKS Twin Power
$$$$ The rest on dyno tuning....

hehe jpandes i need almost double for the single turbo i'll need IC,Radiator, fuel pump, Clutch, and a ported motor that handles the boost and in Cyprus nobody tunes PFC only a guy knows to tune Haltech which is much more expensive than PFC.

Racer? You from Miami, Fl? Are you talking about Chrisspeed? Hes the only guy I know around here that tunes Haltechs and he has quite a waiting list. Odds are though that if you want a fast car hes the guy to talk to though. I heard he makes some mean Bridgeport Turbo set ups.

Call me silly, but I'd put the money back in the bank. I'd wait until there is something you need before borrowing money. In fact I personally would not borrow money to mod a car unless there was some way to get an ROI....like the car was some aspect of your marketing and this attraction was going to enhance sales and return profits.

That said...if you are looking for a girlfriend and you are using your car for marketing....then borrow the money and put half in the car (mods a girl can see and appreciate) and save the other half for shiny things for the girl(s) to wear. This is getting an ROI.

That's my opinion.

im with the last guy....tis a waste to take a loan on such things.

ic..rad...pfc...datalogit and wideband (so you can tune it yourself...tis not rocket science)...fuel system...dp...etc...etc...

see my mod list...it has most of what you need on it to run high hp.

If you do the work yourself, you might can afford to go single, injectors, fuel pump, PFC & commander, big IC, radiator, should run about that much

single kit: 3800
injectors & fuel pump: 600
PFC, commander, datalogit : 1400
SMIC or FMIC: 1200
Radiator: 500
= 7500 +shipping
Spend any leftover money on tuning or save for a clutch, and shipping to cyprus will probably cost a good chunk too.
You can probalby get away with the stock clutch for a while and then it will surely wear out and need to be replaced.

You can probalby get enough info off of this board to tune the PFC yourself, especially with the datalogit.

oh and as for needing a ported motor. I certainly don't think you need one. Ernie T was running 10's with a stock ported mazda reman if i remember correctly.

I agree with most in saying that taking out a load to modify a car is a silly idea. modifying a car is something you do with spare money, although some people become credit card ****** and will pay later. My concern is that you are in cyprus, i don't know cyprus but are there good rotary mechanics you can safetly take your car too? If you spend 8K on the car and something goes wrong you may need another 8K to fix it and a good mechanic to do it.

P.S. You may feel extremely confident in your mechanical skills, but if you've never dealt with this car and just got your first FD, you are not ready to trouble shoot many of the problems. It takes a long *** time to trouble shoot many of the typical problems IMO.

Save Your Money!

If you haven't done the reliability mods, and don't have an experienced rotary mechanic nearby then save your money because you will need it soon just to keep the car running!
