lightweight flywheel
I don't know, but be careful when comparing weight quotes.
The Racing Beat aluminum flywheel is 8.2 lbs, but is quoted at 12.5, which includes the counterweight.
There are a number of "9 lb" flywheels that I suspect are quotes that DO NOT include the counterweight. I'm not sure, but it seems unlikely that you could make an aluminum flywheel that weighed 9 lbs with the counterweight and was strong enough to function.
That said, I would expect the Racing Beat and other aluminum flywheels to be close enough that weight probably isn't a big factor in deciding which one to get.

Rotary Performance has a Chromoly 9 LB. I'm not a fan of aluminum flywheels.
I've had press in dowels fling out of one at high RPMs (SRmotorsports 11LB), the racing beat Al FW uses bolt & nuts instead of threading into the FW (good idea for aluminum, but makes a PITA if the TO Brng gets stuck)
