Hi all,
Trying to track down a decent place to buy my master build kit from. Not sure wether to go goopy apex seals, Atkins seals, oem Mazda ones. Solid corner seals or oem corner seals.
Seems a minefield of options! Can I get some advice from people that have used these? Possibly a place to buy them, might even purchase from US as it will probably work out cheaper

I assume you'll be looking to build the motor yourself?

Personal preference for myself is to keep as much OEM as you can (side seals, corner seals, soft seals, etc., etc.). The Apex seal choice is really up to you and what your goals for the vehicle are. Typically it looks like there is a choice between housing wear, or detonation resilience. Your seals that stand up to knock/detonation better are going to be harder on your housings, while the seals that have outstanding housing wear are more susceptible to detonation. So that choice is really up to what you're expecting out of the engine.

If you haven't yet, I would HIGHLY suggest you make an account over at FDUK, as that's primarily just FD owners living in the UK. They will be much better able to help you either source a reliable supplier for your seals, or direct you to whoever is still building engines over there and DOESN'T have a **** reputation. Plus, you'll be likely to find one or two willing to come over and turn a spanner with ya

Hi fendamonky, thanks for the advice! Yeah I'm looking at doing the rebuild myself I have built piston engines before and was a mechanic so it should be okay although I'm trying to learn as much as possible.im looking for 300 to 350hp going to single turbo it eventually but for now I'm going to run non sequential stock twins. I will create an account on that site cheers. Yeah I was leaning towards oem corners but when I stripped the engine down it had solid corners in.

You don't want oem corner seals on anything ported big or making power. The inserts will burn up and fall out. I go with solids on all single turbo builds. For near-stock cars I agree oem is best in most cases.

Brilliant thanks ir performance. I think I might stick with solids as that's what it had previously. I do want to get it bridge ported also. Love the sound of a Bridgeport rotary, I plan to run it on a power fc Ecu however some people have told me that wolf do a good one and so does link.
