So I think I have oil in my coolant....

So I was flushing my radiator. And upon putting new fluid in, I noticed what seemed to be oil rising to the top, I tried to take a pic idk if it showed much, and I took a vid but idk how to upload it lol so this is a bad thing right?

That's normal for how a Lisle funnel works. If they are mixing, I'd look at your oil, that's where it will be obvious if it is.

But it looks OK to me.

i checked my oil right after and it was about 1/8th inch below the full mark, but there wasn’t any change in oil appearance. Did an oil change about 100 miles ago, and it still looks fresh as it should. In the funnel, it looked as if you mix oil and water, like you can see them separate and the oil obviously floats to the top. But car doesn’t smoke at all or anything

Over the years since I bought the FD in 1992, I have always seen a very small amount of oil in the coolant. For me, it shows up on the coolant level dipstick in the reservoir.

IMO, it seeps through or around the coolant seals. There have been no issues due to this.

This is the 1st time I've seen this reply about an FD in my 15+ years on the site.
