Looks like aftermarket molded carpet kits are back in production for the FD. I remember the group buy on these from ages ago. I'm getting ready to buy a set but not sure if I should get cut-pile or looped. Any opinions?

I've used the red one from him, fits well. I had my mechanic install this because I didn't have the time and space. Mainly alot of trimming is needed. I made a thread over here a while back when I converted from tan to red:

Please excuse the dyed seats, that was the worse thing done to the car, I threw them away as soon as I reupholstered another set in red...

OEM carpet is always going to be a better option, I'd get one if they had new red ones available. I can say that changing the ebrake handle was a pain without the OEM cutouts.

dealer cost on the OE carpet was like $1600! we had a customer that bought one and a set of seat covers, $3500 ticket, he didn't even put it on the car

Yippee! I received my carpet a few days ago
I got to say that the customer service was above and beyond. I posed a question when placing the order and he wound up calling me back to talk through the options so I could make an informed decision. That level of service is almost unheard of these days.
Hopefully, I'll have some time to install in the coming months.

I have the same carpet kit installed in my car. Went with red to go with my red spirit R seats. Good bang for the buck. OEM would be ideal but this is a good alternative. Some cutting and trimming involved. I am pretty happy with it overall.

I bought a molded carpet from Stockinteriors.com. Is there a thread on the forum showing the best way to remove the stock carpet with the HVAC unit still in place? A friend warned me that there's a stud under the HVAC that traps the carpet from being pulled out.

This looks like a fantastic option for carpet, and pretty cheap too. Back around 05/06 when I was in NC I took my car to GA so a company there could use it to make a mold for our cars. In return I'd get the carpet for free. Sounded like a great deal! Except the carpet wasn't molded so it fit like **** and therefore didn't look great. On top of that it took them several months to get the floor mats to me, the ones they promised me, and they threw a fit about that. Overall not a great experience. But at least there are better carpets out there now. This makes me want to get a new one even though I have a OEM black carpet in it now.

This photo gives me pain... If I had a dollar every time I spilled something over my carpet I'd be a millionaire by now
I guess I can help you out. As clumsy as I am, I had to find a carpet cleaning company that would be my number one dial when it comes to ruining my carpets
I remember once I even burned it to holes and really thought there was no way of saving it but these guys https://radiantcarpetrepairs.com.au/...pairs-geelong/ have managed to save my favorite carpet! Truth be told, I'm glad I found them as they have what it takes to fix fuzzing, sprouting, carpet patching, restretching, and more. So, I am sure these guys know how to help you!
