Viking, I hear ya.. like I said, I'm sure there are exception to NSX owners.. I just haven't ran into someone who really knew about cars.. maybe its regional?
Anyhow, here is a pic I took when GTR first came out..
They are huge, but at this point, having a back seat and being higher up might help if I want to drive it every day. Also, wife gave me a thumbs up in one of these when they come down to somewhere in the 40s.. We'll see when that's going to happen

You're right, the majority of these guys only allow dealers to touch their cars. As RX7 owners, we know how disasterous that can be. Suprisingly, our local NSX guys work on their cars and actually race them. So, they actually know what they're talking about.
I'm thankful that when I bought mine, I didn't run into any problems. It also helped that I had a NSX expert on NSXPRIME inspect it before I flew out there. I've never had more fun in a car than I'm having with this NSX.

LOL! It could be... but might not. My friend did see an GTR go through an auction about 1.5 years ago for under 60K (I think he said 57K for 09). All pending how the economy does and what people are willing to let go. That being said, I did also think about 06+ Z06. Those can be had for mid 30s to low 40s these days. And not to talk bad about NSXs, but Z06s are awesome buy in comparison and with great potential at very reasonable cost to upgrade. I mean, if I were to spend mid 30K, I would definitely consider Z06 vs NSX.

By the way, I been on NSXprime as long as I been on 7club (2001)... and its pretty much the same except, I feel like FD owners seems to be more hands on than just paying cash to own a car.

there are just so many cars. What about a Toyota Mr2 Spyder? 2300 pounds. Lotus chassis and tweaked motor. Get the hp over 175 or so and it should be pretty fast and it should handle as well as an Elise at a cost of about $7-15,000. That's my suggestion for a fun, inexpensive alternative to the FD that will probably never depreciate and may well appreciate.
Hey, Hammer. I looked at the NSX quite a bit. Good pricing for what it is. I was getting pretty serious when I had a long talk with Brian Long about it. He's had both FD and NSX. He thought it would let me down because it was too civilized and refined. What's the NSX forum where you go?
(Hmm, I wonder if the NSX V6 would fit in the back of an Mr2 Spyder?)

Have you had a chance to drive one yet? I think you should. Just don't go in expecting a 1/4 mile car.
I was considering a Ferrari 348-355 until you talked me out of it, Thanks. I think the maintenance costs would have ruined it for me.

Well, go read the RX7 vs NSX.... its entertaining to read what makes NSX better than an FD... Most people keeps on bringing up the fact that NSX has better reliability and better interior.. And some starts to talk about stock performance... which performance, stock to stock in 93, FD did better.
I'm sorry but, any car enthusiast who wants to upgrade or mod, you will loose reliability factor... HP to HP mod on NSX vs. FD, I have to say FD as FD has more potential and lately more reliable for 400+ RWHP. And better interior?? If I want better interior than NSX, I would go buy an used M3 that cost $40K (equals to late 90s to early 00 NSX).
But my ill experience of trying to own an NSX did make me become bit more bias... That being said, on the positive note, if you want STOCK, attention getting, comfortable/ sportier version of say Acura TL, slow depreciation (which I'm very surprised by), sports car, NSX is the car for you.

Most likely, I would never replace my FDs as I don't want to start all over on some other car with all the crap I have acquired so far. But if I have to consider, I would choose the following.
1. R35 GTR - as I think it would be easy to drive, technological, Daily and track ready, and seat 4 people if I have to. Great all around car that I could see myself driving and potentially afford.
2. New M3 - I see several around town and in my work garage and I like how they look.. Seems to be good all around daily and track (what I hear but never driven).

I couldn't agree with you more Phil. I did however remove the S2k as an option, it's just not my taste. I recently test drove a buddies GTR, and I really liked the car. It's a total different driving experience, but that is to be expected with 18yrs of technology difference. Honestly, my next car is probably going to be an Alpine White/Imola Red E9x M3. I've been looking for someone selling one locally, but it's a hard color combo to find.
