There's a DoO section if we want to sling mud. This is way off track and receiving complaints. The direction or impact of the economy is relevant as a statement of fact. Opinions about who dun it are not relevant.

I'll hand out slaps and clean this up, myself. No sweat. Don't make me cloud up and rain all over this parade.

To add some more data points to this thread, I had a single turbo '93 R1, freshly built with around 106k original miles, clean carfax and c.$20-30k in receipts for rebuild/upgrades/parts within the last 2 years. Of course the cosmetic stuff is at best worthless on resale, but the car had a clean and well documented history, and a reputable fresh build.

I didn't get any bites between $25-30k. At $22k I had a couple half hearted inquiries but nothing serious. I'm sure some of the cosmetic mods (previous owner) and time of year were a factor.

I ended up trading it in for a shade under $20k. It's still listed for sale here, in a slightly different guise and with no info at all. The "6 month" warranty line makes me laugh every time...

No one is complaining about this. It’s not getting personal and everyone is acting like adults. The thread starter is engaged in all these discussions. Relax and be a moderator, not a godarator. It runs members off.

Body mods, repaint, heavily modded, etc.... What seals and who did you use on the rebuild?

I really don't see how that's relevant.

Lol my bad. I forgot how everyone checks into the FD valuation thread for political pundit amateur hour and name calling. More likely they're here for the mud slinging.

I redirected the thread back on topic. Anyone who cant handle that was probably a melting snowflake anyways.

Probably about as engaging as an open air mod squabble. That must be why the DoO section is full of active threads. People can't get enough politics on rx7 club.

You guys want me to back up off it? Fine. Enjoy. I'll check out. Wake me up when there's relevant content.

There is so little new content on this forum it doesn't really matter haha. The basics have all been covered, there are only 4-6 active build threads with anything actually new. So now we bicker about sales prices on a data set that has too little volume to be meaningful and some random political back and forth.

If there were 40 build threads active and new questions about the car that haven't been answered 50 times already, then I would agree that the threads need to be kept more on track any moderated. This thread itself really needs very little moderation as it's about car sales prices on a rare car with super low volume. This is a thread full of opinion.

And just like that you show how hypocritical you are from your high horse. Please step away from the thread. I’ll clean it up if it gets out of hand. Less is more when it comes to moderation. Just because a couple people don’t like the direction a thread is going, I think it’s perfectly fine if the thread starter is ok with it and also contributing to the new direction. Let’s not go the snowflake route. I believe my tolerance is likely higher than yours.

One good way to ruin a good thread is to add politics in my opinion. The economy can increase and decrease car values which I think is valuable to the thread but as far as getting into politics is not. I wish the thread would continue to be about the values of the Fd.

1995 FD PEP 98 percent stock

I have a 1995 Montego Blue all original clean and unmolested. I have 99 spec taillights but I have the originals same as turn signals. Have originals. Interior is a 9 out of 10. Could probably use a color sand and or showroom paint job. The paint is clean despite that. but my goal is to complete the OEM original. You cannot find 95’s let alone anything that’s been modded. I have for sale 35k on offer up, but I’m not even sure it’s worth selling. So it depends on how bad somebody wants it. I’m hoping If I do sell it stays factory. There can only be a handful of original 95 LHD in the world so in my opinion someone with deep pockets would pay 50k. I know the R1’s bring then most but these cars will only go up in value. I thinks it’s hard to price. I’ve seen 2 95’s for 50-55k

1995 FD

84,200 original miles 95 compression

Original wheels and center caps

Original seats excellent condition

Interior

Cluster

Rear bins

I believe it would be difficult for you to get over $30k at this time if you want an honest evaluation. $22k it would sell fairly quickly and $25-28k is likely the current value. Compression below 105-110 is always a difficult sell for good money.

YEP

As noted I also agree this isn't the best time to sell as it seems the market has cooled a bit. 25 may even be a challenge. 35 is no brainer. Sell and buy a different FD LOL.

Less is always more unless you are talking about economics or politics LOL

With that said TSLA is currently the most valuable US car company (currently trading at 500 plus and up about 100 percent the last 6 months hehe) and they've yet to have a profitable year. Think about that and what it says about the state of the current stock market

If we have even a blip of a recession this companies stock is likely cut in half, minimum. It's crazy how emotional people are about EVERYTHING! Threads on a forum, politics or the stock market hehe.

As I've said before I think the state of the economy has an affect on the FD's value. I also like investing or care about the value of all kinds of things. In other words I like MONEY (not afraid to say that, we are all hypocrits but do your best to own who you are at all times), I like the economy and I like politics because it affects the economy/my money and the value of my FD

Relax, dude. Be an adult. It's off topic, but it's engaging. And OP is still commenting.

I'm not accusing you of being a snowflake. You wanna talk about macro econ? Go right on. Live your best life.

It'd be hard to find another one. Is it the original motor? High miles and needs detailing for $35k today. Noticed the hood liner is a little ratty. Top market looks for stuff like that. Hodl 'til summer and put in some wrench time and you might could get that from the right buyer over the summer and fall. I have a similar car and to be perfect it needs lots of this and thats.

I'll just leave this here as this type of recognition only increases the collect-ability of these cars:

And Tim,

Awesome.

Although I don't see how some of those other category winners meet the next generation of collector car criteria. 2014 Mustang GT, 2014 WRX, 2015 Charger R/T. We're they at the wrong show? Haha

At least the FD got best of show and not the other way around.

You will struggle to get over $25k on a 95 with original engine. I got a fast sale on mine for $23k with 60k miles original engine (decent compression), pretty good paint with a lot of mechanical work. That was in the peak of the June buying season.

Oh yeah his car is immaculate. You've might have spotted it when you came to sevenstock.

I thought along the same lines as you did when I first saw it but then I remembered how I tend to appreciate certain cars as they age. Cars like the second gen camaro as up to just a few years ago, I hated that thing. I thought it was just really unfortunate looking and only people sporting a mustache with a matching mullet drove those things (obviously I'm sorta joking but you get the idea). But for some reason my mind changed and now I appreciate them for what they are.

Yeah. I was at the same hotel as Tim and the AZ crowd. I had seen the car on here, but not in person. The workmanship is spectacular.
