I've never seen a touring with factory black interior I don't think. I have had several red bases with leather seats from the factory and one ssm. I'm not sure I recall a black base with black leather though.

Here are two that I snapped this morning, hopefully it will shine some light.

So If what I'm reading is correct, Touring models did not come with black leather interior, so, this car must have been a base with these accessories added at the original sale, or after.

Pietro has one here on the forum. I've had several VR/black 94 tourings and at least one 93.

Yes, it appears to be a base with factory black leather seats and an aftermarket sun roof.

Interesting. I was trying to think back and I don't recall owning a 93 VR or BB with Black interior.

Yeah, fairly certain that the sunroof panel is aftermarket -- it should have the VIN etched on it.

I've had 94 BB tourings with black but can't remember a 93 either. Now I'm making a mental note or will be on the look out.

Panel 100 percent aftermarket.

If I was the owner I'd start looking for a hard top and swap asap before the hard tops are all gone.

Well, I just took a crazy trip down memory lane. You are correct Fritz. There was VR/Black touring 93s. I found the two links above that I sold over 10 years ago.

If everyone wants to research FD and Supra pricing 12-16 years ago here is a great link, Cars for sale | SpeedForSale MotorsportsSpeedForSale Motorsports. It made me smile going back and looking at some of those cars. I can still remember some of their nuances and the owners we purchased from and eventually sold to. Made some great friends a long the way as well. Good times.

Are you sure the 94-95 those aren't PEG and PEP? Now I do remember seeing a 93 SSM with full black interior at a Rotary meet back in 2012.

So the car itself has an aftermarket sunroof, that brings me one step closer to knowing it's value and what it is.

So I guess at this point it's more or less confirmed that black seats on a 93 are possible?

Calling MNAO for a vin check, will post back with results If they can comfirm

Yep I'd say 5k min on the auto trans and another 2k min on the sunroof.

Here's the last one I had: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...leage-1116237/

My 3rd FD I ever owned was just like the above.

I've had several. Even a black on black 94 touring.

they are supposed to be emailing me the brochure, but I haven't gotten it yet.

Also, I did happen to find out through the call that it still needs the brake vacuum recall and fuel recall done. I called my local dealership, and was literally told by the service advisor I would get a call back tomorrow, and that they weren't sure if they even had the equipment to perform it...😆 Aren't those required by law?

On my desktop those seats look like leather recovers.

Wish I knew what to look for, I would most definitely do that, I'm wanting to confirm whether they are or aren't.

Based upon mileage at 75k, no bolster wear on L seat, strange fitment on L seat, weird creases on R seat I'd say recovered.

Hearing back from MNAO with the brochure, It does confirm what you guys have mentioned, that black leather was available (if the seats were recovered or not.) It does mention, though, that the sunroof is part of the touring package for the 93 model year. Which, also includes the Bose system. The car does not have the bose system, but it does have the sunroof, obviously. I looked into the manufacturer, Daikyo Webasto was incorporated I think in the late nineties, though Webasto did make the sunroof for the FC's, based on what I've read on the forums.

The brochure doesn't hint at the sunroof being available outside of the touring package, but it does mention the sunroof and bose being exclusive to it. Everything looks factory as far as the sunroof controls go, so I'm unsure if maybe the dealers offered to install the sunroof as an add on that isn't referenced in the brochure, and then the glass one was installed after the fact, or what. This proves interesting. If anyone wants the Brochure let me know and I will find a way to host it.

Dealer probably installed it. It was popular in the 90's to add a sunroof, when not optioned on the vehicle. The factory controls should be on the dome light. They might've used factory switches or similar. Doesn't appear to mount the same as factory sunroof, so the switches might be where that ends. Take some more pictures for us. You could just take pictures of the brochure, too.

Your sunroof is 100% an aftermarket unit. Your car looks like a base model some had a sunroof installed in and then had the seats redone in leather when the cloth wore out.

Yeah, sunroof definitely is aftermarket. If this is a touring, aside from Bose you'll also have foglights, rear wiper and cruise control. Not sure if he PO will go through all the trouble to remove them, so look for a nozzle on your hatch, switch on the wiper stick and cruise control switch on your steering wheel, if you don't have any of those then this is probably a base, which comes in black interior.

Agree on the foglights and rear wiper. Cruise control was standard on the base car.

Good to know, I had an impression that cruise control is optional in a Base.

On my touring at least, there are no rear speakers above the bins, so even if you took the Bose snake out or replaced the head unit (as I have, along with shaving the sunroof and rear wiper, and removing the cruise and fog lights), it would still have the pointless little pockets there instead of speakers.

You can swap those pockets for grills and rear speaker brackets, if you so desire.
