Help identify this part.

Tried looking at the parts catalog but wasn’t able to identify this part . Its located under the alternator behind the alternator tensioner bracket..

This canister has a hole at the bottom looks like its been rubbing on the crank pulley since there was no screw holding it when i took it out.. any idea what this part does? Emissions related? Only thing hooked to it was a small vacumm line..

Vacuum chamber, it's needed for sequential turbo operation. If it's leaking you'll have problems with the turbo control door operating.

They should be a dime a dozen used.

It's worth deleting along with all the other sequitenal parts. It also looks like your car may be automatic?
