Taking Apart Alternator

Good grief

I had my alternator rebuilt and powdercoated and I get it back. The Front Case(or whatever it is) is on backwards. So the bolt hole is A:too small and B: doesn't line up with the other.

Any concerns on getting the front off, problems I might run into?

Thanks,

Mitch

If you are speaking of the brushes... There is usually a pinhole in the alt through which you can 'pin back' the brushes while sliding the alt together.

1. call up the douche who made such a blatant mistake

2. send it back and get it fixed at their expense

3. profit

Don't have his number, the car has been down for 3 weeks with a bum alt. Sent it out to be rebuilt and powdercoated.

I'm sick of waiting..

ROUND TWO.

Just when I had found the pin hole and started to put it back together I noticed a spring on the ground.

F*ck!

pic below, where does she go?

The spring might be the one that goes under the brush to push it out.

Although in the photo it looks like it may be too long to me.

Well I FINALLY got it together. I don't think its the spring for the brushes because they both snap in and out easily.

I had to use 50lbs fishin line...crazy sht.
